Who is Karat to give Certification - He is not an elected rep and dreams to be running UPA
by S S on Jun 25, 2008 04:20 PM  | Hide replies

It is not the first time that Left parties are threatening to withdraw support to the UPA government at the centre.
But afterwards, they agree and justify their agreement and compromise with the government. Thus, everything will cool down. Such drama, get them a lot of media attention. People should not worry that the government at the centre will fall and mid-term elections will take place financially burdening our poor nation. One should now get used to Left's drama.

The Leftists want to have the cake and eat it too. They do not want to lose the advantages of back-seat driving and their assertion “Honeymoon over, but marriage is on” simply exemplifies the dilemma of their cosy relationship with UPA as they understand very well that if they withdraw their outside support, the government would naturally fall leading to the inevitable mid-term polls to the Lok Sabha. They are also sure that they may not get the same number of seats they have now and would be reduced to next to nothing having absolutely no say in the day-to-day running of the government!

Kis zamane main ho yaar? India is no russia ..Karat is a decent politician..you can call them communists but they are the only ones who talk about farmers and workers to the knitty gritty of poicies and rights..ofcourse they are pretty bad at it no doubt..nandi gram is a good example..still they are much better than Congress who have no backbone and are corruption incarnated.. BJP is also pretty decent though..

What a Shame!!!
by Nikhil Gavankar on Jun 25, 2008 04:11 PM  | Hide replies

It is truly shameful that the major parties in India cannot forget their personal differences and come to an agreement on what is in the interest of the nation. China and Pakistan are both opposing this nuclear deal which clearly means that this deal is in the interest of India and we have a bunch of red buffoons supporting them and considering their outdated ideology over the nations interest. What a Shame!!!
