When Sikh's, some of the most peaceful and kind people around, get attacked, there is hardly a mention in the mainstream media (if there is one at all), yet if muslims, some of the most violent and hateful people around, get "attacked" the media jumps over it, even though the majority of times it turns out to be muslim on muslim violence, or even fabricated by muslims to drum up sympathy and appeasement.

USA is not aware of Sikh faith and tradition
by Ramesh Anand on Jun 06, 2008 08:31 PM  | Hide replies

The Americans mistake Sikhs as Osama Bin Laden's brotherhood. They are badly angry over the Muslims over 11/9,the WTO episode.Any one resembling Muslims got lot punishments which include even Hindus because they resembled Pakistanis in their features. This unluckily fell more on Sikhs because they had started wearing turbans almost like the Mullahs and Moulwis. This impression trickled down to the kids even.Only if the Americans and their youth know that Sikhs are poles apart from the Muslims, the things will be entirely different.Prior to 11/9,Sikh students were having specially warm relationships with Muslims living in America. After 11/9 they immediately distanced themselves from Pakistanis and Iranian Muslims, but only after several of them were attacked and two or three killed.I was in Amrica then and the sikhs very rightly had started postor campaign declaring themselves having no connection with Islam and that saved the situation to a very large extend.

Sikhs, Jains, Zoroastrians, Baha'is, Buddhists, Hindus, Christians, Jews, Athiests, Animists, Wiccans, Pagans, Satanists and Raelians are all able to intermingle and live peaceably together in a multicultural society (some more than others, but the vast majority of each group at least tolerates, if not outright celebrates the difference in others). muslims are the odd ones out. Where ever there are muslims, there is more violence than would be the norm. muslims are responsible for upwards of 90% of all violent conflicts happening in the world today. the "religion" islam is a blight on this planet and must be destroyed.

Why to hide attacker identity .... ??
by Anti Islamist on Jun 06, 2008 08:22 PM

sounds like some Muslim was the attacker... as usually if its a white hate crime, then media don't hide the identity of attacker...

anyways Muslim attacking sikh is not new in NYC... i remember last year attack on sikh, when 2 muslim youth had taken a minor sikh, and had cut his hairs....

It is deplorable. Are there any Indian associations looking into this ? Any petitions
against these kinds of crimes against the
innocent and law-abiding Sikhs ?

Our PM Dr Manmohan Singh and diplomats, should unabashedly take up the cause of Sikhs worldwide.

don't do anything until the majority of the English population sees it like you. many of them do now, and more will see the truth soon, with the muslim problem in the U.K growing bigger every day. If Sikhs and other oppressed minorities lashed back at muslims, the PC left and muslim apologists would make out Sikhs to be the bad guys, and the poooor pooor muslims to be the victims

Jaspinder ahuja,
I have ghad my education in London as well and know what it is.
Samit dewan is right in saying that you have to give it back some times, we don't go around picking fights but if some one starts it then definatly we finish it.
Tit for tat or a brick for a stone at that time we don't care who and where he/she gets hurt.
We just make sure that the attacker finishes in the causality of the Hospital with few broken bones.
Here in UK or Europe we don not believe in Gandhiwad we hit back and we hit hard where it hurts most.
We make a stand and defend our self to the hilt.

Two wrongs do not make a right. You have to go through the proper channel. You have to educate people what Sikh people are and where they come from. If you start hitting them then that will make those stupid prejudices true in the mind of common people.

Jaspinder ahuja.
All grown ups in UK and Europe Know who Siks are and what is their contribution to the country.
It is the school kids who are unteachable and do not wish to learn are the one who create trouble, and one have to stand up to them, otherwise book your self a bed in hospital for rest of your life or book a plot in the grave yard.
I doubt very much if you know the school and collage and universty culture of Uk.
If you knew you would not be taking side of not retaliating.
Come and try yourself and see if you can educate these morons the value of your culture.
Yes when they grow up(when they hit 16) then their behaviour changes this is because of the law and they now know that they can be locked up for a long time if they mis behave now.
Below 16 only extreme cases get locked up and finish up in youth detention center.
And believe me when they do come out of their their behavior is totally changed.
Now they will not even abuse or pick a fight with a fly let alone another youth.
We are not in India where the police will not even register the complaint let alone act upon it.

I don't see any reason why schools cannot teach kids how to behave. You are right i don't know about UK much because i am living in US. But think about it, is your idea of hitting back the only solution?
