CASH FOR VOTE
by Radha Krishnan on Jul 25, 2008 01:21 PM  | Hide replies

We have seen a drama in LS during trust vote by showing the currencies worth crores allegedly given by SP leader to MPs to abstain from trust vote. I want to know
1. Why the Govt is not seized the money from the MPs as it is a bribe money according to these MPs.
2. Why the Anti corruption Bureau not arrested these MPs as they have accepted the money from the SP leader and produced in LS
3. Why these MPs not informed ACB before accepting the money.
4. What is the total amount they collected.
5. From where they collected these money and who was the middlemen for this transaction.
6. Where they kept his money now.
7.For making this stage drama from where they got these money.
8. The Govt should take initiative to put behind the bar the person who masterminded forthis
9.If the allegation proved wrong the party responsible for this barred from contesting in election apart from barring these MPS for lifetime
10. How they carried such a huge amount in to the Parliament House without noticing by the security people.
11. Why the Govt is not taking initiative to check all the MPs before enetering to Parliament.
12. These MPs will not hesitate to put Bombs in parliament if they hv been paid for that.

MP's surrendered money and now it is in lockers of parilament. I don't see any weight in first 7 points since MP's surrender the money themselve and they involved media and party to catch the culprits. I don't see any wrong in that. However I feel your last 5 points are good and need government to take it seriously. however since government itself is involved I don't expect much from them.

Radha Krishnan:

1. Ask the government
2. Ask ACB
3. That was their choice. Why do you object?
4. That will come up during investigation surely.
5. That will come up during investigation.
6. You saw the money in the live telecast. Surely it didn't disappear. In any case it will be the main item during investigation.
7. See Answer 5. above, and stop repeating your own questions.
8. That is what the BJP MPs are demanding as well. Good to see you agreeing with them.
9. :) Looks like Amar Singh is speaking. Coz there is no mention of what happens if allegations are proved right. :-)
10. You are questioning a known fact. They carried the money didn't they? You saw it on TV, didn't you? Then what exactly is the point of your question?
11. You can ask the government.
12. That is your own conclusion.

Any other questions?

Cash-for-vote
by R Chandran on Jul 25, 2008 01:17 PM

Yes, let us study the three first permutations that could be reasonably true in the claims made by the three MPs who waded the money bundles in the open forum of Lok Sabha witnessed by few attendees and millions on TV upfront and later in repeats.

1 - They were bribed by one political group in collaboration with another and few persons got involved in physically meeting the targetted MPS to induce to take bribe for a favour to vote for the Trust Resolution. This means these 3 MPs are easily vulnerable to the act as understood by the bribe giver, otherwise they would have targetted some others easily.
2 - The story is fabricated and arranged so nicely like what we see in TV serials to make belief that the bribe payment of advance instalment was definitely arranged by the interested political party for bringing them to a humiliation.
3 - This is a fact that the bribe act really took place as claimed by the three MPs. These 3 MPs cannot have anyway got the confidence motion defeated? What next?

what is the problem with Mr. Rajdeep, why he is not disclosing the cd to the public, if he has submitted to govt, govt should show to public, I think, there is a secret understanding between Rajdeep and Congress, he may demand for bigger medal than padmashree. As per RTI act, it should be made public immediately.

Dear Mr Venkat,
You right. There is nothing wrong with Rajdeep Sardesai. He was always anti BJP. It is BJP's mistake that they chose his Channel for this purpose. I am really shocked as to why BJP chose his Channel. Had it been against BJP, he would have been airing the CD all day. His actions and words in the past are for every one to see. Nothing strange

No channel is pro BJP. If BJP had used some small channel like LiveIndia for the sting, these people would have questioned its credibility. This is why, the BJP had to choose CNN.

But I am sure, the BJP also has a copy of the CD. It can release the tape on youtube, and the rest will be history

Whole of India, except Bengal and Kerala will work normally. And Bengal and Kerala are in any way accursed places with strikes and hartals and bandhs thrice a week. So nothing abnormal is going to happen on Aug. 20 or any other day when Left calls for Bandh.

Our intellectual arrogance has also not helped our society. I have traveled extensively, and in my experience, have not come across another society where people are as contemptuous of better societies as we are, with as little progress as we have achieved. Remember that arrogance breeds hypocrisy. No other society gloats so much about the past as we do, with as little current accomplishment."
