AMERICA SHOULD SAY NAMASTE AND JAI HIND. ILLEGAL CABBIES
by ashok kumar on Jul 24, 2008 11:36 AM

F the money can buy the lawmakers (MPs) --the law executers are small fry comparatively to be bought out at less amount, including IB and CBI and judges, with promises of powerful positions.

In the next year the current power bearers will rob the Indian treasury 10 folds over. So it is a wise investment.

ALL the BS in the present environment for nuclear deal is nothing more than political and money kickbacks and extremely shortsighted for India' welfare. The NEXT US government would have fought it more aggressively to look better than Bush's term. BE it Obama or McCain. $100 Billion is on the table.

A strategic alignment with USA is natural, it had to happen, regardless of Indira's fallout with Nixon/Kissinger. Congress had NO reason to be dictated terms by USA.

AS a PM I would have USA support India's seat as a permanent seat on UN security council, member of nuclear weapon state, and last but least equal member of G8 plus.

BUT alas you and me are stuck with corrupt politicians from Nehru downwards. They will sell their mother for money and power so to sell out Bharat Mata is NOT a surprise.

A revolution is not far away once the literacy level rises. Which it will. The NRIs are going to play a very important in this.

The NRIs MUST be allowed to vote. Dual citizen will allow this. NOT a PIO card to pay exhortation's fees just to visit India.

NRIs and their relatives and professional associates talk the same talk but unfortunately stay away from the "dirty" pol

If america said salaam to hindi, why is SFO airport having hoardings in punjabi? Get realistic and dont write crap just for the heck sake of feeling jingoistic about hindi. Indian government should promote sanskrit than hindi.

People like you with big fat mouth and narow mind can dot any thing more than just putting silly comments like this .... Who stops you from writing book in sanskrit and sread its knowledge to the masses especially students who can get highly benefitted by learning and understanding one of the Greatest language "Snaskrit". Knowledge is power
by mallaiah anchoori on Jul 24, 2008 07:31 AM  | Hide replies

It is very gratifying to note that Sri Prakash has taken up the cause of promoting Hindi language which is the national language of India. It is in all fitness that India's national language is gaining its due recognition and efforts are being made to develop & propagate it in a country where Indians are substantial in number. While I am extremely glad to note this trend I may exhort the need for promoting one of the very old & sweet Indian languages i.e Telugu also for a simple reason that people speaking it are in preponderance in USA-perhaps only next to Gujarathis.I can confidently say that 70% to 80% of the NRI IT professionals are Telugu speaking;there is a dire need for their US born children to learn & retain the flavour of this great language which is considered to be "Italian of the East"Because of its popularity & prominence,it could find place at university level also-say in Austin University-earlier it was a course in Michigan & Houston Univrersities also, but I feel pained to note that it is not being taught anywhere in any of the schools at least at places where Telugu people are in majority amongst the NRIs.I am not against promoting any other Indian language/languages if there is any such felt need. After all it is not wrong to promote one's mother language-so much so when it is sweet & great.Knowledge of any language is a gate way for learning things developing ones own ingenuity & intelligence.A linguist has a definite edge over others. Knowledge is power.

Mr So called 'telugu magadu'!!You brush up your knowledge.Hindi, whether you know or not,is our national language.
For 'posts' you named your self differently and added 'magadu'in that.Kindly you prove your that element in expressions which should be decent in a parliamentary language. Please mind your language when you write from a public forum like this. You have been scolding/abusing people in Telugu language written in English script;it only indicates your lack of guts which do not befit with the word "magadu"Please mind your language & mend it.That is good for all.You are participating in a discussion board where all enlightened, educated and cultured people participate.Once again I advise you to be decent in expressions which should be in languages understandable to the participants.

Hindi is the official language, NOT the national language. The national language bill never got through the Parliament !!!

How does ''Salaam'' come in the headline?
by Tathagata Mukherjee on Jul 24, 2008 06:05 AM  | Hide replies

How does "Salaam" come in the headline?

Hindi, Bengali are taught in NY City Schools.

Many many City, town libraries now carry Hindi , Sanskrit books. Sanskrit, Hindi, Bengali.........and many other Indian languages are taught in many many american universities, particularly in major ones.

I expect to see Sanskrit, Hindi to be offered in the school the way many other foreign languages are available today.
