EAT WHAT EVER YOU WANT BUT IN MODERATION.....ONLY THING IS..... APPLY MENTAL FACULTIES TO NOBLE CAUSES AND LIVING STANDARDS. HUMANELY !!! Not with destructive qualities !
Eat Mediterranean diet for long and healthy life . They are known to be the best men and women physically .
Eat plenty of fish and sea food for nutrition to the brain. Feed your children with fish and ghee for brains and beef for strong body. Let future India be filled with bright and healthy people unlike the present lot.

The scientists are misguiding to the people. So also you.
One can be bright, healthy, strong and talent by taking vegitarioan foods.
All types of non-veg food may be good for health but not for innermost soul.
Just compare cruel carnivorous animals like tiger, lions, etc. with innocent herbivorous animals like cow, horse, deer, etc.
Researchers have also found that vegitarians live longer than non-vegitarians.
Don't follow blindly their findings.
Just follow what our scriptures, rishis, vedas, well wishers preach us to lead a happy, healthy and strong life, mentally, physically and intellectually.

the above person has given suggestions to be intelligent and strong by eatin non-veg foods. nice to see him say that he wants future india to shine but that can also be achieved by eatin veg foods and milk. if one watches cnn regularly one can understand that vegetarian diet or vegan diet (as it is popularly known as nowadays) is gettin popular these days. but they recommend milk to b avoided as milk is not considered to b vegan or it is frm animals. but milk is one of the best foods one can hav as it is one of the best foods. it helps in improvin finer tissues in our brain which was said by our vedic rishis and also agreed by modern day research.

itz true dat not many ppl follow bhagavad gita but thrz so much good in that book. it has impressed the western world, their scientists and scholars (if datz what one want coz anythin ok in the west is also ok with us .. dat has been the general attitude nowadays). itz gud to see ppl highlight past indian works. nevertheless if none follows gita we can atleast take the first step and encourage ppl start doin it. itz upto the individual whether he likes to follow it or not coz it doesnt say that if u dont follow it u wud land up in hell like some of the other scriptures. it treats various aspects of life purely on merit. and if u ask me the question whether i follow bhagavad gita (coz when such comments are written on rediff the first thing some ppl wanna ask whether if i follow if not not to preach), i reduced my intake of non-veg food to almost once a month. i wud like to bring that to zero but i m atleast happy that i made the start.
Your nature is decided by the food you eat. Good food makes a good human being - Bhagvad Gita.
A taste of Indian wisdom
This, in a country which strongly advocates that the purity of the soul is determined through the food we eat. There are believed to be three vibratory states: Satvic foods – all vegetables and fruits, which vibrate with a steady flow of energy. Consumption of these foods gives mental serenity and peace. These vibrations give mind capacity to expand and increase its subtle feelings. Rajasic foods - animal or flesh foods. The vibrations from these come in spurts and stimulate mental and vital energy for a passionate state of high activity. Tamasic foods are alcoholic beverages, stale and putrefied foods, whose vibrations foster on unconscious state and bring about inertia. A person, in whom these different states exist, ought to consume food to increase the Satvic food component of his or her nature, so that he is able to transform other states (Rajasic and Tamasic) to this state.

The Hindu categorization of food and explanation of its relation to a person's disposition is amazing. The effect of food is even obvious in the animal kingdom where herbivores animals like elephants, cows, horses etc are easily distinguishable from the vicious nature of the carnivores like tigers, lions, hyenas etc.

Bhagawat Gita should be made mandatory in schools.I know I am sounding communal but then this is what is needed for betterment of society.

itz great to see ppl discuss abt bhagavad gita. one thing wat we shud notice is it doesnt say u hav to be a hindu to take non-veg or else god will punish you. whether u r a hindu or atheist or frm other religion it purely treats a persons habits on his merits. itz not only gita all the other ancient scriptures tooo treats some1 on his merits. i wud agree to the person above who has recommended gita for schools and some1 sayin it is not communal. but in todays scenario anythin related to hinduism is communal as thatz how things r bein projected by the media, politicians, secular organizations (actually peudo-secular). by the gita recommends to avoid non-veg and the above said example is only help ppl understand that it is not like few other scriptures which say it is ok to kill some1 as u follow the book of such religion.

actually our vedic past has suggested so many gud things to help humans live happily and with harmony with other living beings and nature. all this was ridiculed by the british and other colonialists when they ruled India. but now ppl r realisin the importance of wat was said by our seers in the past and this is also agreed by modern day science thro research. remember "satyameva jayate" meaning truth alone triumphs. it takes time but finally truth wins.

so, its better we dissolve FCI scientists and appoint bhagavat geeta scholars for the job... All looks nice to read in Sanskrit... it was really extra ordinary invention at that time .. but not worth following now.
