US Media really biased
by Venkatesh Babu on Jan 25, 2008 08:40 AM  | Hide replies

I remember when the Korean student killed people in Virginia tech university, the media there had a full blown coverage of the story, for more than 15 days.

Recently I heard, when the Indian students were killed, there was not even a news about that in any channel.

Why this apathy?

There is always a probality to getting robbed and murdered anywhere in the world including India despite the best of police and forces.

You never know when a devil of greed and hatred arises in any human in second.

Murders happen even in extremely high security VVIP New Delhi area where Member of Parliaments live including many servants being murdered.

Death for rape -- by torture like stone throwing?

Cutting hand/leg for theft?

All such practices are heinous. Punishment, if it's to be given, must be civilized. I won't feel much if somebody is hanged to death, but feel much pity if a part of his/her body is cut.

And what to expect from brutal community called Muslims except barbarism?

what if the student got killed in some indian campus, then the headline would might be a BC or SC or ST or Brhamin student is killed in campus.

We are indians outside India, but inside we are ?

No you dont have to learn from primitive brutes of Saudi Arabia...are you out of your mind commending a tinpot kingdom named after a family and where cruelty is institutionalized? The US is a civilized country which opens itself to everyone and therefore has a high crime rate..in any case add these up and its not even a fraction of as many killed by Islamic terrorists everywhere else. NO the US dont learn from Saudi Arabia..yuckkkkkkkk !!

Dude! Lets assume you are in Saudi Arabia and you are falsely charged with a rape or murder or theft. There you don't get a chance to appeal like in any civilized democratic country. You will be treated as per Sharia law and you will be either severed off your limbs or castrated or beheaded. If thats what you like, please goto Saudi Arabia and don't ever preach such savage ideas to any citizens of any civilized democratic country including India........ You are such a loser and a refined nitwit!

The problem is that the good points dont come without the bad ones...Just think...there is a reason why most of the world moved away from the "jungle law" of an eye for an eye...So if you want a alleged "crime free" society it come at the expense of barbarism, lack of civil rights and martial law

And they have to learn from rest of the world many things like how to get out of stone age, how to treat male & female equally, allowing other people to practice their religion equally, contributing to world, science & technology rather than just relying on natural oil/gase resources....and the list goes on & on
(tons of similar basic things).

I think you guys are strolling away from the real fact here, it is (for your info): A fellow Indian student being killed, which is very unfortunate, and how we youngsters can advocate it to chiefs of our country to take appropriate actions, so that these incidents do nit happen again in the future.

We can discuss about castration and limb cutting, as well honoring the Saudi asses later, some time!!

saudi is a negative force.of course in the due course they also have to change and it is happening.
probably a must induction of "Human Values Education" in to school/college system (following How Sri Sathya Sai Baba's schools are run) is the permanant solution and it is applicable for the world.

Mahato's murder
by geeta ramani on Jan 24, 2008 11:28 PM  | Hide replies

Yes it is murder. The police ought to catch the villain/s and put them to death(legally). They deserve no mercy.
Why are Indian students not uniting and demanding action by the police. These deaths occur frequently and polie are just by-standers.
What is the difference betwen Indianpolice and US police??

The compensation claimed should be used to build hostels with more security features. The Indian students should stay in 2s or 3s so that some immediate company is there.

if the indian students stay together they need not go to USA to study. they can study in India where most of the community is Indian. it is more economical also. The inter cultural experience is the benefit the derive while they srudy abroad. similar to "Mahato's murder" happens in India also.

I think you can trust the US Police and the judicial system, the murderers would be caught. They have already made some progress. Although it does not compensate for the loss of a family member but does provide some solace.
