Prakash nicely written. If our poor give a thought to such small things they can become rich capitalists. In American culture you get what you pay for plain and simple.

On the contrary quite a poorly written article as it focuses on operational issues and efficiency which are found in other competitors and not on strategy which is the reason McDonalds stands apart.
this IFS are wasting taxpayers money which we are paying. stop these buggers sending in other countries as cost centers...rather send some business man to earn money there.
In america the stupid stuff is cheap as an idli or dosa.In india its marketed as a rich girl boy eating crap.Unhealthy and plain stupid like fat americanos.Whats the point, that they make money by fooling people and branding? Why does indians eat this stupid crap?
Mc Donalds uses monosodium glutamate an addictive and carcinogenic substance, they inject pottasium sorbate to stale food such that tastes fresh, they use high cholestrol egg yolks after selling the healthy egg white at a profit etc. etc. These negative aspects have been neglected and only positive efficiency is mentioned here. BTW a lot of this theory is known to many kirana store owners in India. Thing is they don't write books or give out management lectures

I agree with you on unhealthyness of the food but my freind how many Kirana store owners convert their stores into Mega Marts etc. What Prakash has mentioned here is not the advantages of McDonalds but the deeper aspect of Management style, how to convert an ordinary thing into extraordinary. The American style of working is shown here, ingenuity. These type of ingenuity and creativity is what made America Rich. In India women spend 90% of the time in Kitchen trying to prepare healthy food. In America due to less population they need more man power for managing the businesses to remain capitalists. These fast food chain restuarants take away that time and effort. Also in India how many restuarants do you think serve healthy food. Have you ever seen the kitchen cleanliness of 100% vegetarian restuarants. The Roadside Pani Puri wallahs are they healthy.

My friend you are confusing cause and effect. This type of ingenuity and creativity is the result of America being rich and not vice versa. You can see similar fast food chains in other rich countries like Japan (Mos Burger) and Canada(Tim Hortons). So there is nothing unique about McDonalds here. Secondly America became rich more than 100 years ago and we see innovation there only after creating wealth. So lesson for india is not to try and imitate US innovation, rather concentrate on becoming rich by consuming more natural resources first and innovation follows.

Precisely. America is a self-made country. The europeans exported their poor to the united states in the late 1800s and early 1900s and from there, this country became what it is. They weren't born rich, they became so through creativity (and of course the world wars, but hey, it was a world war, no-one else did well).
The story about Mcdonalds can either inspire you or make you feel jelous in the flase sense of patriotism. I would rather take the inspiration, which might help me and my patriotism.
beautifully written and explained in simple terms. The McDonalds is a brand to reckon around the world and one of the more trustworthy ones. The fact that they devote so much mone and time in devising new menus according to the countrie's eating habits is really good and speaks of how dedicated McDonalds is.

yes, take off your clothes, your glasses, your shoes, throw your PC in the dump and go take trip to the himalayas. Double standard hypocrites! Look around you, can you tell me one thing tht was made by us? Cement, Yarn technology, manufacturing, computers, tubelight, fan, your footwear (and the expensive imported machines that make it), toothpaste... WHT?! Nothing... stop cribbing if somebody is highlighting the American ways... and go back to eatinng in dhabas and tell them -- "No! plz don't modern gas, only coal... see I'm against glorifying american things!" Retards!
