Surprising that couple wants to go to Bar
by New Blogger on Feb 21, 2008 09:30 AM

The article cites a couple who will be able to go to bar after hard days work finishing at 10:00... amn't sure how many couples would be like that.. but certainly drunken guys will affect the life of those couples who don't drink

alcohol is a great disinfectant ... you should use alcohol to clean your kitchen counter, dinning table and even door handles to stop spread of germs ... pour a drop or two on your palm and rub them together to disinfect them.

If used wisely, alcohol can save families from germs and infection.

Do some fun stuff...
by ranvir singh on Feb 21, 2008 01:26 AM  | Hide replies

Why not wake up early or make some plan for weekends like river rafting, skiing, hiking, rock climbing, snow walk, camping, horse riding, kayaking.... all these are really fun stuff and better than bar/beer.

Hey Ranvir,
nice thoughts, but be logical yaar. Where is the river to raft? Where is the snow to ski? Who will go and do rock climbing or hiking at 40 degree temperature? Horse.. common.. not in the reach of common man.
Daroo - Beer.. yes very much accessible to normal Indians. Now tell me what is wrong in that. If you dont like it dont drink. But definitely it is gonna bring its own miseries. After all for every action there will be some reaction.
One must know his/her limits that is what needed. rest is upto the Aam Janta.

I live in Vancouver,Canada and never been to Banglore. Beer/drink is nice and fun sometime. But I want to say that we need to get out and enjoy time with nature. I heard People are making lot of money in Banglore (IT) so they are good to go anything like people do in west.

Rediff should check the validity
by redifreader on Feb 21, 2008 01:07 AM  | Hide replies

Rediff should first verify the details provided by Radhika and Kishore. What are they doing until 10pm everyday at work? If guys need to hang around in a pub, they can do so on Saturday as well which in most cases a day off. I understand that being a Friday night, every one would be in a mood to party. I do also know that the managers at these firms will be in such a mood and come on they are also human beings, we cannot treat them like freaking psychos who make their employees work until late night on a Friday. Its good that they extended the hours, but people should take it as an oppurtunity to have fun in a good way and should not take an advantage of the situation and resort to some activities that might be disturbing to other people or even involve some one else's lives on the line.

seems Mr. rediffreader is not fully aware of the nature of IT projects . If it is US projects ,to map the timings associate has to sit late . In that case they are coming office late too. But meetings with clients or onsite people can't avoide . So no need to worry what Radhika bd Kishore d are oing late at office .

Well, in that case rediff need to mention about the time they come in to the office and I do not think "everyone" in Bangalore IT projects work during US timings. Also, I do not think it is only the "IT" people who go to the pubs.

In that case they are coming office late too. But meetings with clients or onsite people can't avoide depends on the work . So no need to worry what Radhika nd Kishore are doing late at office .

Hi,Me too working with US projects, but dont go behind laways work, enjoyy along with work. doesnt mean that need to stay till 12pm at office as working with US project. If people take care about their security its good for them, dont blame about company. Another reason is enjoy along with work, becoz even if you work day night when they want to remove they will kickout without checking how much effort you did for companys work. So enjoyy always..

About time...finally...
by on Feb 21, 2008 12:10 AM

Looks like the Taliban government and policing authorities have woken up. It is time that a city trying to act like a Metropolitan city act like one.
The only other city in the world where dancing is banned is Kabul, and the rest of godforsaken Taliban land. This freakin police and this lousy police commissioner is the worst nutter- he has all the police force in the world when it comes to mandating the shutting down of pubs so efficiently but so easily takes a stance and claims "we are understaffed to man traffic".
Delhi set a fine example for an efficient turnaround of a city by bringing in "ENFORCEMENT"...something the monkey police and politicians of this State and City have to learn the ropes of.
