Good augury for democracy
by Pranab chakravarty on Feb 18, 2008 11:49 PM  | Hide replies

Trend of election results in Pakistan is good augury for the restoration of democracy despite low percentage of voting. The low percantage of polling is due to the people's apprehension about law and order problem and not due to their lack of faith in the democratic way of life for which they have been struggling for long. Now the question is whether a stable government will be possibe !

Pranab Babu, I can answer your question only after two days when everything is crystal clear and all experts have passed their judgements. As far as Pakistan is concern I better play it safe.
Meanwhile, please note that the reason of the low percentage of votting is Muslim's non-faith in democracy. They love to beleive that like One God and One Prophet there should also be only One King.

Who ever win, single handed or jointly, if Musharraf is dislodged, it will prove that the people of Pakistan has rejected the old conception of 'One God, One Teacher and One King'.

dear chandra prakesh,
the concept of one GOD and one Prophet lies in spirituality and does not depict the power hungry strides of musharraf. his victory or loss is the choice of the people of pakistan the belief of one God and one Prophet does not rest on the choices of few or for that matter any no of people. Just so that u are clear !

Arey Bhai, yeh Yusuf Mian ko gussha kyun ayaa ?
My logic was general in nature. Absense of democracy in most part of Muslim world has given fuel to the fire about this much published conception.
Take it easy man !

Civilian Govt. for Pakistan
by MANOJ DEV on Feb 18, 2008 11:25 PM  | Hide replies

The drama never ends in the poilitical arena of Pakistan. What next? Can not say enjoy, because it has always tended to be gory and finally all acts have ended in India baiting.
Successive Pakistani Huqamats have survived on India-bashing - we have to wait & watch whether history would repeat itself or the average Pakistani would call the bluff and take actual charge of thir country.
After all Pakistanis are our blood-brothers & sisters only. So, one point is absolutely guaranteed - politicians on both sides of the borders have the same characteristics so far as taking public for a ride is concerned.
Welcome Shoaib Akhtar, at least you speak your mind.

How about "See Villain Govt. for Pakistan"?

That's how things are in reality. Most govt.s in Pak have made hate India as their staple food. They have bled Pakistan of its vitals and created a society where the intolerance for peaceful means is so high.

he was hindu just like gandhi but i read his book he was more worried for pakistan prosperity and about gandhi's way of treating us muslims as priviledged. gandhi was a die hard hindu and a great leader sd not be that fanatic religion guy. due to his hinduism hardcore belief muslims never came closer to gandhi n they considered him as threat. ultimately gandhi was like dhobi ka dog na ghar ka na ghat ka.
