May be you watch some soap and news channels.
During my visits to India I have seen Maharshi's programme on religious channels, I have forgotten the name. I have not only marvelled at his skills in getting educated (!) professors and others follow him and contribute and propagate his TM, bua also appreciated the techology adopted to do it.
He can't be compared to other sadhus.

by raj on Feb 11, 2008 05:19 PM

the poor are hoodwinked with stories of miracles, and the rich are graced with personal attention. the rich contribute, the poor spread the guru's words.

Very Sad
by sanjeev sharma on Feb 11, 2008 05:18 PM  | Hide replies

It has been reported on many occasions that foreign political media in order to weaken people's following of eastern philosophy, try to do character assasination by planting female agents. Even in case of great himalayan sage swami rama similar sexual charge was made by one female agent but nothing could be proved.

Any way I suppose people will use their common sense and understand the significance of such great sage as Mahesh Yogi in due course of their life time.

The Fact About Maharishi Mahesh Yogi - A Play Boy
by Sagar on Feb 11, 2008 05:05 PM  | Hide replies

The Beatles had met with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi during a 1968 TM teacher-training course they attended in Rishikesh, India. After a bitter dispute, sparked by rumors of Maharishi sexually assaulting Mia Farrow[44], John Lennon was inspired to write the song "Sexy Sadie" ("what have you done? You made a fool of everyone") about Maharishi.[45] Whether the Maharishi's conduct with Farrow was sexual in nature is not clear. Mia Farrow's autobiography does not draw a definite conclusion: she describes "panicking" and fleeing after he put his arms around her in a dark cave, immediately after a private meditation session.[46] Word of the incident was given to the Beatles by "Magic" Alex Mardas, who portrayed it very negatively, devastating both John and George, who felt betrayed by the Maharishi.[47] Cynthia Lennon believed that Mardas invented the story to undermine the Maharishi's influence on the Beatles.[48][49] George Harrison, years later, commented on the contretemps, saying, "Now, historically, there's the story that something went on that shouldn't have done%u2014but nothing did,"[50] Paul McCartney, in his biography, likewise says that he does not believe the allegations and also attributes them to Mardas.[51]

The Beatles' song Across the Universe was beamed into space by NASA on February 4, February 5, Vlodrop time, 2008, and contains a reference to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's teacher Guru Dev. Other pop songs known to be about Maharishi include the Beatles' The Fool on th

Mr. Agent, this allegation was never proved. If someone had such intentions, such actions would have been repeated in other instances. Do not take one unproven allegation try to talk bad of someone.

Lastly, when someone is dead, please say a word or two good about him.

Mahesh Yogi is an enlightened soul. He has only discarded his unuseful body. He was in peace even when he was in body and he is in peace now when he has left earth. In vedantic terminology he was a JivanMukta when alive and now he has become VedhaMukta.

What he has contributed highly advanced people already know, with time ordinary will also understand his contribution.

If we sat aside our ego, we will be able to understand Mahesh yogi. Otherwise we will be only maligning him, as inspite of apparently living in luxurious world he was a simpleton, wearing simple cotton clothes, eating sparingly Ankurit Anaaj, drinking water and sleeping on simple bed.

Try to learn about his life, his teachings and you will unearth lot of jewels of life in your personal life.

Dear Sanjeev,
Please make sure you use the correct English. Yes, Maharshi lived a simple life. Simpleton means "a person lacking intelligence or common sense " according to the dictionary, which he certainly was not.

Instead of living and teaching in India, he takes up residence in foreign lands and becomes rich. He is no better than your popular hugger - Mrs. Amma. Is yoga only meant for exporting or wot?

He moved out of India when Congress leader Indira Gandhi forced emergency and almost all spiritual and political leaders were being put behind bars.
Also he has opened up thousands of schools (Maharishi Vidya Mandirs) across India encouraging poor villagers to let their kids study Also he has opened Vedic schools, Engg college, Management colleges, Medical Colleges. This all while living in Holland. Any other so called Indian Guru who has done even 10% of what Maharishi has done?

If he was a true saint as you people make him out to be,he should have been here & taken the harrasement. He flew away as he was afraid of physical torture!!!!!! Arent saints supposed to be above all physical pleasures & pains. Anyway i dont know whether he ran away because of Indhra Gandhi or something else.

You ppl find something to criticise others others without even complete knowledge. He spread values of Hinduism out of Inida. He opened so many schools and colleges not only in India but abroad as well. So what is wrong with that? When a baba or Guru decides to live in India and serve the society ppl like you dismiss them and compare with so many other crooks acting as gurus in our society. But if he decides to serve India and abroad all you ppl call them materialistic and crook again. I am defendign the whole lot there are so many crooks servign themselfes only on the name of religion but lets not be blatant enough toreat the good an bad in the same way.

Mahi, I have tried this TM not now but 20 years back. It is not something which he has found by himself. It is there in Yoga sutras supposed to be written by Patanjali a great saint long ago. All these late day comers are spouting it as if they found it and go on creating universities etc for yoga etc for which there is no use. Did they do any service like Swami Vivekananda going around the world like true ascetics. These so called gurus nowadays travel First class in Air and Mercedes cars on land. If they are so dedicated to humanity why dont they do it by serving the people like the Ramakrishna Ashram does. And appointing Rajas for each country, wearing crowns etc LOL man he must be the emperor of nutland or he knew his followers were nutland cases.
