According to the article, what the Sri lankan tamils demand is equivalent to Indian constitution.It appears that present constitution of Sri lanka is discriminatory. Then all the countries including india should come forward and help the tamils within the frame work of srilanka providing equality to all the citizens.

exactely. in the similar way the demands of Kashmir too is genuine. and the most horrible stealing done by jews in palestine....the demands of Palestinians is much more genuine than these srilankans and kashmiries.

Dear Golden although I also support the Palestenian cause could you please read history first. The Sri lankan Tamil have a far beter cause than the Palestenians for a homeland. Many Plaestenians only migrated from other parts of the Arab world around a century ago mainly from Trans Jodan. They neve had a history of and independent kingdom.Whreas the native Eelam Tamils have been living in the North and East of Sri lankan for thousands of years and for most of thoer nhistory they had ruled themselves, until European colonisation a few centuries ago. The Protuguese and the Dutch recognised this and they ruled the Sinhala and Tamil parts of the country which was under their control as two seperate colonies. it only when the British captured the Tamil Vanni and the Sinhlas Kndyan Kingdom in the 1820s they united the whole country under one rule. Therefore Sri Lanka was an artificial creatin by the British in the 1830's. THey united to mutualy antagonistic people who had a history of bad blood for thousands of yearsin to country. It worked ( liked the former Yugoslavia until Titi lived) until the British ruled. However when they left they should have didvided the country as they found it or seen that the Tamils were given adequate ptection under the federal system. Insted they handedn the Tamils on a platter against their will to their historical enemy the Sinhala mjority and left. In a way they are the cause for all this and shuld be sued.

Come on. Don't be sneaky (to slide in Kashmir here). Kashmiris already enjoy more autonomy than any other states of India. If you don't know, please read article 370 of Indian Constitution. Kashmir and Tamil problems are not same.
The model Sri Lankan govt should follow is more like the case of state of Tamil Nadu, where language, culture, education, administration and law & order are completely governed by the state and economy (income and taxes), defence and natural resources governed by the centre.

The division has already been done once.Now those wanted to stay in India are staying there.Pakistan is not supporting the LTTE cause and giving help to Sri lankan army, how can they ask for more share is Kashmir.???
