b s prakash is always lively . he throws up interesting possibilities.

for example internet, blogging ...are making every guy with a connection somekind of a writer.this is phenomenal. it must be changing us fundamentally. this never has happened before.

as regards writing ,indians are going to have strong presence in the world's writing fora -books , the net, other print media - in the coming year/decades . something like our software industry !!

Inside every blogger there are) enough bench hours.

Inside every Indian blogger there are enough reasons to complain about his/her city of working.

Inside every blogger there is a failure status of rejected by print media.

Humble Indians vs Pompous Americans!
by hindu on Aug 22, 2008 01:30 PM  | Hide replies

"In India even someone like Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan [Images] who spent a life time studying the Upanishads would never say that he is a philosopher. He will reluctantly admit with all humility, 'I am a student of philosophy.'
In the US, an eighteen-year-old undergraduate doing the most basic course in logic or ethics would not hesitate to claim: 'I am a philosopher!' "

That says it all! Don't say America makes you confident and India makes you otherwise!
It is sad that you misinterpreted the learning.
America makes you pompous, arrogant even if you are devoid of any stuff! Whereas India teaches you how to be humble even if you know everything! Learn to respect what India has taught you!

One can be so humble that no-one takes one seriously!

Is this why most Indians are thought of as nonentities?

It doesn't matter what they're "thought of as". The fact is we're driving the global economy.. whether it is from the corporate offices in US or the oil fields of the Gulf. You couldn't live to see a single day without these non-entities.

It is your loss if you cannot take people with humility seriously... you respect only arrogance, thats what you will get -- you'll always be a slave!

Arrogance is short lived, humility is resilient, India would not have existed with respect and honour all these years had it not be so.

Inside every blogger is an aspiring author

Writing is an aesthetic art; no one can teach you how to write. It is an innate skill bestowed rather prejudicely by the mighty nature on few immortal beings. The gift of thought and insight has to be matched by ability to weave beautiful words, casting a magical spell on the reader ad leaving him/her spell bound.

The popular art may earn you money but it is the high art which provides immortality.

Some bloggers beg to differ

Because, given the collective intelligence of our political leaders, the collective courage of our intellectual class and the collective communal hysteria of the general public,

If we dont start _typing_ on a large scale, soon,
we will have to start _fighting_ on a large scale

That simple.
