Its realy unfortunate that our Media as well as some sections of society started pointing the fingers towards Ashram and Asaram Ji.
If one goes through what Asaram Ji teach, one will find that he lives a very simple life, have equal respect for all the religions. On listening his satsang one finds him as person with great self control, compassion, depth of experience and one can notice his continous urge for benefit of society.
I have visited his ashram multiple times and have seen the deep culture of decipline and purity, and have never been asked to pay any donation or buy some ashram product.
Its again unfortunate that the thousands of services done by his ashram for the benefit of society never gets any Media attention/coverage, but on the issue of student deaths the Media is more than ready to malign his image even without any evidence against ashram.
Hope that sense prevails among the society and more importantly among Media.

-US inflation is NOT 6%, but 36% more likely. -Bush does NOT create 120K jobs a month. He loses 250-300K jobs every single month since Jan this year. -Jet fuel can NOT melt steel/iron for that would not work, would it? Engines would melt if that was the case. Jet fuel burns some 1200 degrees less than it's required to marginalise building alloy. -US has not lost 3500 soldiers but 300-350K, out of which 120-160 are dead and the rest disabled. -US pours near 2T into Iraq/yr now. -US pours 18B every single day into its broke banking system today. -US has attacked 68 nations since WWII murdering 25-30M civilians around the planet. -US under Bush has attacked 7 nations murdering 2M while maiming 4M. -US GDP is not -,2, it's far less. US median pay today is 50K/yr USD.
Similar blasts claiming lives of rag pickers happened many a times earlier. Once Bengali Adhunik singer Kabir Suman wrote a song titled "Bahoba sabash baroder daal, ei to chai! Chhoto'ra khelbe ashun aamra boma banai" It means "Bravo, well done, the team of elders, that's what we need! The kids will play, let's come and make some bombs"
After Suman wrote this song, such incidents stopped for almost a decade or more. It may be a stray incident, but targeting the downtrodden is not new in Kolkata. In the 80's there was a menace of the stoneman in Kolkata where a man used to kill people sleeping in the footpath by hitting their heads with stones. Those who think the poor are very safe in Kolkata might be very much astonished.
Actually safety is guaranteed to the middle class. Poors die in Kolkata like anywhere else in India.
