With old civilisations like the Hindu, much proof and evidence is lost over time. Everything seems like "stories". After the "holocaust" and "programs" from the 10th to the 15th centuries, the Hindu intelligentia and along with them much useful and accurate histories have been lost. Read, V.S. Naipaul's "India: A Wounded Civilisation" - it is a must read for every Indian, of all religions. Without going into details, there are good reasons to think Sri Rama lived around 8,000 years ago, about 1500 years after the last ice-age. He must have been an extraordinary man because people, his contemporaries WANTED TO remember him for his great qualities and prowess. They made a full record of his life. Even before Valmiki wrote down his life history, The Ramayana [The series (of events) of Rama] was being sung in the form of "folk songs" by the people of North and East India. Valmiki, codified all the songs into proper Sanskrit. He also recorded faithfully all the geographical names of all the places Sri Rama and Sri Lakshmana visited. I am of the view that the "monkies" they met were "Neandrathal Humans" = another species of humans. VA-NARA in Sanskrit means "OR HUMANS", that is "Alternate or Other Humans". Valmiki is not lying when he reports the conversations between Sri Rama and the people of Kishkinta. Sri Hanuman, was a master of the language, his power of speech, correct speech, endeared him to everyone. Monkeys cannot speak. Sri Hanuman was over 7 feet tall.

There is now evidence emerging that Neandrathaler and other species of humans lived until about 8,000 years ago. When such evidence is found in the area of Kishkinta. we will be more convinced. The Ramayana bears a degree of devotion no other Puranic stories such as that of MANU or MAHA BALI bear. Because the first generation of people who knew Sri Rama and Sri Krishna, had so much devotion to them, that their lives and events were recorded in precise detail with all the geographical names also given. Only after the first Five or Six generations does memory begin to fade and people start adding some "extras" to the story, which is a problems. But these "extras" do not take away from the original truth of Sri Rama and Sri Krishna. They were some of the earliest Prohphets of Hinduism. They both were Vedic Scholars - many Vedic Scholars were not born into brahmin families, they were Kshatriyas and some like Veda Vyasa Muni were Shudras. They both invented many military weapons and war strategies to stop the "Asuras" from disturbing "Sanatana Dharma". They did not argue like some foreign Prophets that "non-believers" should be killed. They defended Arya Varta but did not invade other lands. Even after killing Ravana, Rama anointed Vibhishana as the King. Rama was deified because he carried the Divine Spark in Him. Hindus will "deify" anyone who is "super-human" and tries harder than the average person to be Dharmic.

In Pompei-Italy, there is a temple for Sun god,Venus,Jupiter,Saturn (like HINDUs)which was buit around 3000BC by romans. Got covered by Mount vesuvis volcanic eruption in 79AD and rediscovered in 1780 and completely found in 1970s by research team from USA. They preserve that now.
In Mexico, they have ancient AZTEC religious temple (similar to HINDUS) for Rain god, fire god, water god, mercury . They still preserve it. In Egypt they preserve their ancient monuments
But here they want to destroy it. what a shame! if our country would have been under British rule, those British people would have preserved that.

legned, I share your views and concerns. Since the 1960s, India is a country "of the politicians, by the politicians and for the politicians". Ancient monuments have no "vote value".
The communal elements can only think of religious myths and not reality. If Ram existed as they believe then why was Babar not punished for destroying his temple.Instead, he was blessed to rule India for the next seven generations.This means that either Ram did not exist or Babar did not destroy the temple.These RSS/BJP supporters should start thinking of national progress and not live in a state of make believe. We need to be practical, rational and sensible otherwise we will remain weak and backward and others will rule over us and we will not rule over anyone as happened in the past.

Not just RSS/BJP but Muslim and Christian fanatics should also work humanity and not try to attract as many members to 'My God's Army'. This is one aspect of Communists that i agree with, Religion is the opiate of the masses and it causes them to behave like demons.
This project makes enormous economical sense - just be rational and think about the future of the next generation. People will always be oppose to change, that's natural. But there is only one constant in this universe- and that constant is change. We need to change and accept changes. The Sethu project will bring tremendous economic benefit to this part of India. Of course, people who are already wealthy will fel threaten, because changes will create a new layer of "nouveau riche"- this can be seen as a threat. But this project cannot be stop, because some section of the society, sees it as a threat or because others cannot see the benefits of changes. people has come up with all kind of excuse- from environment, to LTTE attacking India, to corruption, to hurting certain Hindus sentiment etc. An analogy could be a small child first day ina new school - this sudden change is causing him or her - to be out of his or her comfort zone. Now the child will come with all kind of childish excuse- now as a grown up adult - what do you do? Now have a paradigm shift and apply it to the Sethu project.

Tamilboy, Have you read Captain H.Balakrishnan's interview published by rediff? It is listed on the left of this column. Since the monies invested is huge, better to know all the views and possibilities before-hand.
Tamils are in total support of the canal project for economic and social development alon their coast line. As it is wish of the son of the soil , it will definetly come.

Well, leave it, but he would surely be able to tell the readers as to which political party started the Setu Samudram project in the first place. Wasn't it NDA led by Ram's modern day hanuman Mr. Advani, now why they are opposing it. Also how many temples (of various hindu gods)were destroyed that were coming in the way during NDA's India Shining Golden Triangle Highway Network. If he cannot tell you, I will infiom you that it was about 2000. Had it been done by UPA or Congress, just imagine what these True Patriots (BJP & Sangh people) would have done to the country (at least 15-20 Bharat bandhs, hartal, rowdyism, loot, chaos, anarchy, Hospitals/colleges/ schools/Banks bandh, further suffering for the daily bread earners, sufferings for their children at their homes...all because they only have the Theka (right) to destroy gods, bridges, sign nuclear deal etc.. If others do it, then Hinduism is in Danger.

ss,you are a convert christian becouse you play the dirty game of missionaries who always link hinduism with brahmins alone which is not the fact.neither RAM, nor KRISHNA, or NARADA, VALMKI VISHWAMITRA,VASHISTOR are brahmins but of different different castes like many saints in sanadana dharma.only christian missionaries tend to spit venom on brahmins and talk of division of caste in hinduism to weaken the pillors of hindu dharma. nowadays hindus understood the dirty game of christian missionaries and will not allow them to succeed in their efforts.when UPA govt gives HAJI subsidy to muslims and CONGRESS A P state govt gives subsidy to trip for jerusalam to christians but same UPA govt denied existence of RAM himself. HINDUS must be ashamed for this and learn from hindus in JAMMU who are fighting for past one month without break for amarnatha land .JAMMU hindus are the real hindus.rest of hindus in india are only by name sake.

Brahmins propagate brahminic hinduism , which provides highest status for them in the social ladder. They were successful in the olden days and the rule of law flowed from one person called "Maharaja" and brahmins brainwashed the kings to propagate their evil designs.
When English men ruled india, brahmins were the first to become his deputies, gave company to english men in playing cricket and did all sorts of activities to get favour from english men.
They cleverly planned a party called BJP only to propagate brahminic hinduism. However their wish were short lived and Non brahmins like Advani and Modi are in centre stage now in BJP. ( Often i hear now that the brahmins suddenly express their concern that there is a serious leadership crisis in BJP , because their brahminic Vajpayee is out of power).
Even today , you can see brahmins occupying highest position in the corporate ladder by brainwashing the non-brahmin industrialists. After reaching the highest position in the corporate world, they ensure that only brahmins are recruited down the line , even for the clerical and attendent posts.
Brahmins are always anti people and want to live by denying the common masses , their rights and dues.
