We see so many news posting of the achievements of Indians abroad. It is a pity theta India itself does not recognizes the talent of these pioneers. It is a big shame fro Indians that we have to let go such talents to foreign countries.

congratulations to dr. Balasubramanium. the hindus are an amzaing people who need no more than half a chance to do twice as much.
I sometimes pity the working conditions of doctors in India, especially those who work for the state health services. They are paid a pittance and are exposed to all sorts of biological and social hazards for their work. Compare that to the life of an engineer in a well built industrial township or a management graduate working for any company in a metropolitan / other city. No wonder doctors are forced to migrate abroad. Their patriotism forces them to do something for India, for which usualy there are no bouquets from the Indian government, maybe a few brickbats. I do not know why the government cannot extend at least the equivalent if not better international pay and facilities to these doctors to entice them to come back. This would be affirmative action of brain gain and not the negative line of brain drain resorted to by the government. And as a precedent, software personnel are offered international salaries in India itself.
