Dear Sir
I do agree with you that allopathic medicine cannot fully control a diabetic patient who has been suffering from TypeII diabetics since 25 years. Diabetics is a silent kller after cancer and AID etc. Can u suggest any excercise /Asan etc which will be able to control by BS level
Thanking you

How I am managing my diabetes
by Deceptive Swine on Nov 14, 2007 09:42 AM  | Hide replies

i was diagonised Type 2 diabetic in Jan 2005.

Since then I have been on medication as per the advice of my Diabetes Specialist.

I have also read many books and internet articles and information to control diabetes.

Briefly the following are the precautions I Took,

1. Avoid High calorie items like sugar, Rice (large quantities), Sweet Drinks Etc. Take the precribed diabetes medicine.

2. Reduce fat intake (only 20 g cooking oil per day). This is because Fat increases insulin resistance.
3. 40 Minutes fast walking almost every day but not less than 4 times a week.
4. Keep control of weight.
5. Monitor blood sugar once a week (fasting and post dinner)
6. Check Lipid profile every 6 months
7. Check Hb1AC test every 6 months.
8. No or little alcohol consumption. Stictly no smoking.
9. Check eyes for retinopathy, check foot for blisters etc.
10. Wear slippers as far as possible even inside house.

I should say I have been able to control my blood sugar and Lipid profile reasonably well so far.

I just want to remind Rediff that today also happens to be Children's day. Forget about Nehru, at least for the sake of children, Rediff must devote few lines for this purpose.

We would like to know what are the other plans they have on this day 14th Nov...to create awareness among the public. We need a rapid action interms of education on preventing and handling diabetes. To my knowledge, managing diabetes is not an issue at all if one posses sufficient knowledge of it as a whole.... that is what we need to give to the people. I would like to contribute to the society starting from my area being Hosur...like this every town village to be covered by volunteers...ofcourse to whom knowledge to be imparted so Pl let me know the organisation to whom I should be in touch with.

What research have you got to back it up or is just an old wives tale.
For me if my sugar level goes higher then what it should be(I am a diabetic)a double shot of neat whiskey works wonder but I will not recommend it to any one because in don't have any thing to back it up. it just works for me it brings my sugar level down within an hour.
second one is a strenuous exercise to burn sugar.

Ajit singh and Kapil Tiwari,

moorkh log,
Suggestion has been tried and tested method over time immemorial and leaves of sitaphal are excellent reducers of sugar level in body. Particularly in the stages of diabetes, when people have to expensive medication with lot of side effects this is a very good remedy combined with good diet.
Do not speak any rubbish that comes into mind.
