I think author has missed the last US ambassador Robert Blackwill. Blackwill has helped a lot in destroying anti-India terrorist camps(involved in kashmir) in Afghanistan after 9/11.

One wonders why there are no Europeans or Arabs in this "wellwishers" list.

good article sir. it was really difficult to be india-sympathiser during days of socialist india , anti-americanism, cold-war days. we indians should always be indebted to them as they were bridge between rich west and poor developing india,era.

At a time when India was despised as a Soviet lackey by all of the West and especially the US, to have stood up and spoken for it is an extraordinary feat. These three men deserve our salute!
