Amartya Sen to lead Nalanda panel
by Bodh Ramdeo on May 26, 2007 09:48 PM

As long as the University is free of corrupt babus and netas it will be fine, but if, as is their wont, the corrupt netas get their grubby hands or say in it's administration, like the Pawar creature in cricket, then all wil be lost, Amartya Sen or no.

Great News
by Saswata on May 26, 2007 02:23 PM

Indeed a great news and could be a good begining for Bihar to restore its original glory. However , having spent couple of years in Bihar and known the way anything works , I am little bit sceptical about its proper functioning . Right from the start of construction , the Mafia will include themselves . Need to make sure of the Law and order situations. Moreover , it takes even more responsibility to make it an International Institutions. So Please see it to that LAWLESSNESS does not affect this future glory. Wish all the best.

A leading Light in The Persuit of Learning.
by pradeep kumar on May 26, 2007 02:02 PM

The idea of Bihar govt. is praise worthy. The university should be given status like Vatican.Where no beurocracy, police atrocity or local political Dadagiri should be allowed. Its own constitution should be allowed within the frame work of Bihar govt. I think its not a immpossible task since the world's first democracy was introduced in Vaishali in ancient time now a part of modern day Bihar. I hope it will be the leading light in the persuit of learning .

Finally
by Sri Harsha on May 26, 2007 01:45 PM  | Hide replies

The earlier land of education and now the land of violence, is going back to what it should be.

The revived university gives hope that it would stop the decline of arts as academics in this country.

We dont require only muslims politicians of all breed can also be the harbinger in destroyig this monumental heritage. Please Mr. Mario a talk about good work is going on so dont bring any communal flavour in it. Just pray that Bihar that is infested with nefarrious activities doesn't create any hurdles in the path of the university to progress.
