It does not matter how many women are there as law makers, it rather depends upon how powerful they are.
The entire nation like India was once dectated by an Woman (Indira Gandhi). The entire modern India is under Sonia Gandhi. The entire UP was once under a powerful corrupt woman Mayabati. The state TN comes under the will of literally Jayalalitha.
We have more powerful ladies in this country compared to any other nation in the world.
US does not have a single woman president till date. Even they did not have a woman speaker until this even year after 100 yrs of democracy.
I dont think we are lagging behind in terms of dominance of women in politics in India.

Counting few on hands does not make mass. The statistics are huge numbers of population, not Sonia, Indira, Mayavati or jayalalita? Put all the states, all the politicians (male vs females) and then comment.

Offcourse we have a small mass of ladies but we need women who could contribute to the lawmaking not a bunch of puppets in the hand of their husband. We need some independent mind of women who think away from their family and more towards nation building. 1000 Ravri devi are worth less (who is puppet of Lalu) compared to a single Jayalalitha.
How many women lawmakers supported the woman reservation bill in parliament. Did they go to any rally just like Mamata is holding the entire bengal with fasting? No they did not do that. Cause they have still the mindset of following male.
So the point is, we dont need these kind of women as lawmakers in mass who does not think independently. We need only few lawmakers who can take the nation up. Mass is not the biggest factor my friend, it is the capability of people.
Where are our proud Jhansi Ranis hiding?? Afraid of macho politics practiced by present day politicians of India. By gender you are gentle, compassionate and prudent in decision making. But we do not need another Smt Indira Gandhi who was the architect in destabilizing the state politics thru her maipulations of puppet chief ministers. Spare some time in the midst of busy time with family life and make-up(??) Jai Hind

I disagree with your view. basically Politics in India is very Gender discrete. Woment are not treated respectfully because all the politicians are uneducated and the way they talk only a goonda can speak. Remember if a women can make a household she can structure a country BEST. Do not blame Indira for anything wrong. Just remember how strong India was going in her rule. Yes she had several Yes man but that is not to be blamed on her. Indian politicians do not have guts to stand and speak. Look what is happening with Goddess Sonia, all call her mother and worship her (is this not Yes man). Well all I can say is India claims to produce educated crowd, educated society and educated future bull all claims are false because Indian representation (politicians) is a total uneducated Goondas, murderers, rapist and killers. Every woman is a jhansi ki rani provided she is not raped or assulted by these goondas.

True golu indian politician are for appeasing minority, but not women, there is 33% reservation for women and this should be split to minority also and the law should say that only a women candidate can contest for these seats. As most of the politicians are goondas and third rate criminals and these people will try to bring third rate useless film & Porn stars in the name women politics. if the law says this 33% percentage should be form film industry our men politicians may be happy to adjust for better adjustments later

Very well said. These politicians needs Pretty brainless faces to appease their crowds. They would not let a fresh draduate out of college with huge brains and plans to come into politics. I have seen some of parliaments meetings and the way these politicians look at females, it seems they are virtually raping these poorladies. forget the fellow female politicians, I went as a college tour and we were so upset because all these goonds were kind of staring us all the time, as if we came out of zoo.
