Public safety has no value in India. Until an Air India crashes no one will stand up and take notice. The last time an AI crashed it was Jan 01, 1980 when a boeing 747 crashed in the Arabian Sea after it took off from the Sahar Intl Airport, Mumbai. Nothing has been done since to improve the standards of AI, I dont care much abt Air hostesses or food but atleast make the darn plane safe and worth flying.
Our good old Maharaja is virtually in news every week if not every day for some failure or the other on his aircraft.Apparently, until some VVIP is injured or killed in a mishap,the sleeping Maharaja will be so.All the air craft arev either very old or NOT maintained to any standard.They may not even be air worthy if properly checked by any independent certifying authority.Even if they are so for the airframe,the other departments will NOT be.The flying passengers are only attracted by cheap fares which are provided in lieu of all the costs of maintenance or they have no choice due to manifold reasons.Due to this trend,they are waiting for a calamity to happen.Mr Praful Patel,please wake up from your slumber & provide meaningful leadership.
