I am more worried of the unemployment it would cause to the people selling coconuts, garlands, etc.. These people earn hand to mouth and not sure what would they do to earn a living now..!!

You Dsouza jerk-the temples are controlled by the Govt unlike your churches where you can preach bull and collect memberships. The temples do not preach. The priests do not sell the coconuts are garlands. They give to another devotee who comes. How many coconuts did you jerk buy from a priest? Stick your bible nonsense. You will do fine

Mr Buddhuraj,
As your name suggests, you are the raja of buddhus....Why do you make generalize controversial comments with your limited knowlegde...maybe they sell the cocunuts...which make sense if they get so many cocunuts, better recyle them....Ok the problem is they make might keep the money for themselves...so what...think the end effect...less cocunut less waste

im sure the so called devotees can make slight adjustments in order to improve security...if they really are devotees, they wouldnt mind, but i cant tell u, all those people who crib about this cannot be called true devotees, cuz true devotees will seek God no matter what..I am sure one can reach God even without putting coconuts and garlands for a few months of tight security..

No garlands, coconuts at Siddhivinayak: cops

IT IS UTTER DISRESPECT TO HINDUISM. IF STATETE CANNOT PROTECT A TEMPLE AND THE HINDUS LET THEM RESIGN AND SAY WE ARE INCAPABALE. WHY SHOULD THE HINDU RELIGIOUS TRADITIONS NEED TO ADJUST THE WHIMS AND FANCIES OF THE GOVT IN THE NAME OF SECURITY ETC. THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY COMPROMISE ON THIS. ALAS THIS CAN HAPPEN ONLY IN INDIA AND TO THE INDIANS WHO IS RULED BY AN ITALIAN!

i hope ur "no compromise" notion of religion helps but sadly, as far as my experience goes, all it does is make u narrow minded and fundamentalist, and those ar 2 big hurdles in reaching God

offerings to siddhivinayak temple
by on Jun 18, 2007 02:39 PM  | Hide replies

This is a stunt to remove all the stalls selling puja items in front of the temple. If it was a security reason, when the temple spent 6-7 crores of public funds to build bullet proof wall this measure should also have been introduced. There was a press note a few days back that which said that Tirupati temple does not accept offerings so what is the problem if we do not accepted in siddhivinayak temple. The temple should ensure that even the VVIPS should not offer coconut and garlands to the temple as it was always exceptions for VVIPS in the temple.

Why the lunatic people target innocent devotees and Lord Ganesha? It is for deriving mental peace and solace that one visits Mandir, but here too the mad terrorists scare the believers. They are a lunatic and non-believers lot, out to destroy God's own place. Let God give Sadbuddhi to these creatures.
