Iam deeply concerned of the happenining in the Nortehrn part of the country on the"Gujjar" issue. Actually this is a price India has to pay for the deeprouted "Political economy" of castism that it contiue to hold with whatever justifications.While, in the "Macro level", the country is racing to find a place in the economic Super Power status,in the micro-level, the society is boiling with several sections of the society not able to catch up to take advantage of such "growth". In the process both affluent and well as disadvanteged sections are in the process of competition to survive; the former need to see their status being unquestioned and for the later to identify news ways and means to get into the stage. Here caste become an apt political arm to find identity.Even in the So called progressive states of South India has also been dotted with newly raising caste consciousness in all levels. The "Gujjar" wil be a warning to these "Volcanos" slowly erept in various parts of the country in the time of economic growth with out "development"and "distributive justice".
When I had commented that the process of caste-based ethnic cleansing all over India due to quotas, shrinking water table and shortage of women due to widespread female infanticide has begun, Rediff had censored my comment. Now it is coming true. How long will you keep censoring my comments Rediff??? If India's armed forces kill each other along caste lines - Mahars shoot Marathas, Mazhabhi Sikhs shoot Jat Sikhs etc - then imagine what will happen. Increasingly, even armed forces officers are coming from rural areas which are full of caste spirit. What will happen if such things happen in police and army also? Will censoring help then??? Even Metros will not be safe - all call centres and IT industry will come to a grinding halt. All investment will flee the country. This is sure to happen if such caste riots keep on happening. This can happen all over India simultaneously. When it happens even army will be of no use, because even army has regiments based on caste. If Pakistan or China wants to attack, all they have to do is organise a big caste riot all over India and get army men to kill each other on caste lines. Very easy!!! I think even in year 2060 when Indians have settled on Moon and Mars also, such caste riots will happen. Soon we can expect Hindu-Muslim riots and caste-riots in London, Paris, New York, Sydney... wherever there are Indians who follow caste. Imagine Gujjar girl winning Miss World or Miss Universe and Meenas rioting in London, Paris, New York, Sydney..
GOVT OF INDIA HAS TO CANCEL ALL RESERVATIONS BASED ON CASTES, RELIGIONS OR CLASSES. AND HAS TO MAKE IN ALL THE AREAS CHANCES WILL BE GIVEN ONLY TO REAL TALENTS. SEE THESE PPL NOW JUST FOR CASTE THEY ARE BEHAVING LIKE ANIMALS.
We aren%u2019t Indian at all. We are gujjar, jaat, gupta, then hindu, muslim. sikh etc%u2026 Indian come only when we see some external threat that%u2019s good but internally we keeps on fighting over the caste issues. We keep ourselves restricted to these sects. We don%u2019t marry across caste system and if someone does, there a loud hue and cry.
There is no Gandhi / Patel seems to be coming in near future. We need to refrain from this castism but our politician won%u2019t let us as this is the their main way to get into power

Vilish, I do agree and share the concern of we the people in India continue to be identified on the caste basis. I some time feel that our entire system is so well webbed to reinforce in every individual mind about his/her caste identity (it starts from entering and asking your caste /religion name in the first school level itself} dispite its original claim and objective of helping the deprived community through a target approach. Anyhow Its seems in the time of this globalisation and liberalisation which see the world though the eye of "economy" and "money" the each individual looks others as a compititor and hence a potent threat to our well being, The issues like "Gujjar unrest" may become a political tool for the finding a place in the "economy" of "survival of the fittest". Hence the comunity identity may likely to get stronger in India. Unfrtunatley our so called "Democratic" Politics well fit to flame the fire more. Long love Hindu/christian/muslim/ sikh/Gujjar/jatt..etc...etc and short love the "human"

Well Said..............politicians would do that even........as long as they could register them as voters.......
This is abject failure of Government and Governanace...Is there any Rule of Law or its jungle Raj...Executive both State and Center has lost all rights to remain in power.. Its not the number of deaths but total helplessness, cowardice, surrender of Government to street urchins. The question is not who should get reservation...but who is Government this Country..Can we allow it to be held at ranson by different interest groups.. There would always be conflict of interest in various groups.. but they cant be allowed to take law into their hands and make mockery of entire system.. I feel we have spineless people from top to bottom in the Government..and it shows the enemy within I feel ashamed of being citizen of this rotten country

Friend your anguish is understable, but when disease is old & chronic operation is needed. It is nature's way to bring balance. That is why Shiva is enigmatically called God of distruction- it is sometimes only way to create space for new.
Also Shiva is called Neel Kanth- because as a man we have to swallow many a poison but keep it in throat done let it go to heart then the poison will destroy you.

They are not opposing each other because of the hatred towards each other but because of the fatc that if gujjars get SC status, they will eat up the Meena's reservation pie. So better keep your stupid imagination to yourself, but this shows that if we continue to have reservation policies we will continue to witness such incidents. Secondly I was of the opinion that reservation is meant for deprived classes but the kind of unrest these have created shows that they are not deprived rather very powerful class and should be taken out of the reservation.
NOW FOR THE SAKE OF INTEGRITY OF INDIA , THIS IS THE RIGHT TIME TO ABOLISH ANY TYPE OF RESERVATIONS ON THE NAME OF CASTS & CREED FROM THE INDIA. OTHERWISE IT WILL HAMPER OUR PROGRESS & DEVELOPMENT. THOSE DEMANDING FOR RESEVATION IN GOVT JOBS, THEY ARE FORGETTING THAT THEY ARE SPOILING THEMSELVES POTENTIAL & TALENT. GOD GIVE THEM GOOD THOUGHTS
