Presidents Rule should be imposed for the remaining Term in Goa
by Adv. Sonia Moniz on Jul 26, 2007 11:10 AM  | Hide replies

I feel that President's Rule should be imposed for the remaining Term in Goa.It is only then the Politians of Goa will learn a lesson for the future to respect the peoples mandate and will be faithful in performing their duties rather than being bought for a ransome everytime.

I do not think so. Because our Politicans try to topple the Govt by being rubber stamps of notes.Hungry for Power Politicans will ruin Goa. Presidents Rule is a must and the need of the hour to save Goa and not shave Goa.

Please note that Hon'ble President Pratibha Patil has become President only after winning the election. In democracy the majority wins and minority cries by what you have said in your message above. Sharon A.

by No BigBoss on Jul 26, 2007 10:50 AM  | Hide replies

Buta Singh is one of the creme(leftover) of politics who has never forgotten to serve congress even holding any office. Congress send him fast there and install at any post .. governor, LT Governor or create a new post for him so that he could help you back again !

Long live Congress Democracy

I fully agree.Bu Ta Singh would be the ideal choice! They should also send a senior reporter of a "secular" English news Ehannel who is a Konkani.Last time she did an excellent job of being a link between the Gov.who was a ex-CM (Congress)and the prospective CM! This may also be an opportunity for our "Political" President to show her political sagacity in solving such complex political exigencies as desired by CPM while insisting on a "political" President!
If this sounds too sarcastic, just listen to what Kiran Bedi had to say yesterday!
This is Incredible India!!!

Sethu what are you saying?
After such a BALIDAAN of sacrificing power by that great LADY since she did not want to have any power, how can you say that?
Has she not saved that lady from any criminal litigation so long as she occupies the Rashtrapati Bhavan?
Who could think of bringing a CROSS etched on our coin(currency) to show her loyalty?
Could Indira Gandhi do that? Is it not a greatest wonder that after "shedding power" she is the most powerful lady on earth(2010?Does she not have more sycophants than what Indira Gandhi had? Where is Powar,Pranab,Arjun?
Media?Look what how they exposed themselves(instead of exposing politicians)during the last election! What more do you want? Still you are un-happy?

Goa Govt
by Shridhar Iyer on Jul 26, 2007 10:40 AM  | Hide replies

This has become a habit in Goa politics. Whenever any Govt is formed with a wafer thin majority, the Independents and small party MLAs ask for too much, else they threaten to withdraw support. The ruling party also gives them lot of power, money, position, etc. to survive.

It is high time that politicians understand their responsibility, and work for the welfare of the people who elected them, and not bring down Govt at their whims and fancy or at the drop of a hat.

With best wishes,
V.Srinivasan.

Dear Sridhar Iyer, that's politics.
This will continue forever in Goa as long as it is a state with 40 MLAs. Prez rule or reverting Goa back to union territory may be the only solution

Centre should impose presidents rule and save us Goans from corrupt politicians like Babush Monseratte(we Goans call him "MONSTER RAT") from coming to power.
As it is this coalition is going to be more instabe than the previous ones.

At First Place I don't understand why u Goans vote for such coruupted politicians. Blame it on yourself. Why don't u simply vote either for Congress or BJP so that this opportunistics small parties will not become hurdle in the development of very well said, one of the most beautiful state of India. Face the fact that with only 40 Assembly seats Goa has the most no of regional political parties. Its high time u people of Goa understand your importance as an alert and responsible citizens of Goa & India. Goa is one of those state which has Highest literacy in India. I m not a Congressman nor a BJP spokeperson (As I dont believe in them either), but I firmly beleive that voting for either of the two party will only improve the situation from worst to bad.Rest Bhagwan Malik hai!!! I m not saying that all regional politician might b worst, I know few are bad and very very few (one in lac) could be Ok also. But Voting for them only increase chances of horse trading & its high that u understand the value of ur vote. These elections are conducted by snatching funds from so called development funds kept aside for states development. And its u who pay for the same by means of different taxes.- Alert Citizen
