its unfair to give ALL the credit to google

No doubt,Google has really change the world with its amazing content search and other tools. There is one more content aggregator i like i. e wikipedia. Try if haven't checked it yet. Its growing like anything and has exceptionally well organised conetnt on almost everthing in the world.

It is true that anyone can edit it, but that doesnt make it less reliable source than anything else. Vandalism is rare and in most occassions reverted back very soon.

It is the most neutral, most democratic and most reliable source of information I have ever come across. In fact now a days I google for wikipedia content, when I am looking for information. Google is far better to search wikipedia than the built in wikipedia search. For the non techies, try somethign like "site:en.wikipedia.org keywords" (replace keywords with your search keywords) on google to search wikipedia.

Yes, Wikipedia is reality defined through consensus. A democratic fact machine where the majority view is endorsed (specifically, majority of people contributing to wikipedia). While it may point you in the correct direction, it need not necessarily be true.

Nice article sir. The pwer of google has really changed the world. I found info about all the existing major civilizations of the world. Could compare Bhagawadgeeta with Bible. Learnt what everything preaches. Google has really changed a part of the world that is connected with Internet.
