What happened to our (TN) government!!!,
by Tamil Arasan on Apr 23, 2007 11:19 AM  | Hide replies

May God bring comfort to their family and fill the void left by the death of their loved ones.

Why the hell the government spend tax payers money to send Professor .Loganathan family members to US to attend the funeral, here in gulf region many poor construction labourers are cremated as unclaimed bodies when they died on construction site due to accident or for other reason, this labourers families are so poor back home that their family members can't afford for the expenses to transport the body to India, our government must help such people not those living in west who study in IIT or IIM on tax payers money and goes to west for green pastures and never returns. There are few exception people, but many forget our mother land once they go to west.

The government and media must show such urgency in helping the family of our brave soldiers who dies in battlefield boring the enemy bullets but this stupid news channels won't show a small clips of such incidents when the bodies arrive from Kashmir to their native places.

USELESS INDIAN MEDIA
by srinivas alwala on Apr 23, 2007 10:47 AM

At last rediff did something better by this article and even rediff some times worst than other media's.

Every indian channels does not know their duty,as yesterday in every channel showing Gay (Abhi) & Prostitute (Ash) about their marriage and Tirupati visit, even they did not do any good cause for the people, why these people given so much preference by the media, instead of showing missile Bramos and great acheivement by our scientists and Loganathan's Mourning news.

I hate Indian news channels.I beg all the channels to act responsibly and make India proud.

Dear friends (in the discussion board),please react on the same.

Its a US Gov Black op using mind controlled assassin
by asdfq on Apr 23, 2007 10:36 AM

All the tell tale signs are there:
1. Simultaneous Exercise or drills( there were bomb threats on the campus 3 days before, lots of policemen on campus)
2. Perpetrator on Prozac( he was on anti depressants )
3. Perpetrator comes in contact with Psychiatrist ( he was sent to mandatory Psych Assessment in 2005 dec)
4. media packet delivered in a convenient manner( like 9/11 passports out of the plane into the streets then someone hands it into the hand of FBI agent)
5. media packet has lots of visual media: The agenda is to terrorize the American populance to agree to more regulation ( Gun control , universal monitoring etc.)
6. He had a 60% fatality rate with handguns - that's unheard of given 9 millimeters don't kill people instantly.
7. he was allowed to perpetrate even though there was presence of police on campus till he terminated himself.
8. Parents and Family member work for the US military( Sister worked for a state dept contractor, worked as an intern for US embassey)
9. Vtech has been pulling out links to CIA and NASA funding and related research.
10. High School cho went to shares a compound with Northrupp Grumann's special research wing.

Vtech/Blacksburg was a hotbed for CIA activity

CIA has had documented evidence of carrying out Mind Control Experiiments:
Projects: MKULTRA, bluebird
They have done this before!

If you cant understand this post just ignore it dont report abuse it others have a right to see it.

The only motive of this attack is to ready the ppl for more gun control and terrorize US population.

by Tanveer Makkar on Apr 23, 2007 09:27 AM  | Hide replies

With no disrespect to the departed souls and with full sympathy towards their families, why so much hue and cry?
Do we mourn the death of each and every Indian living in India? Or do we reserve all our mournings for "Americans of Indian Origin" only?

You are bit right though. we read everyday so many people died in Kashmir including teachers, students. Nobody mourns, they were innocent and wanted to become something ans their families had hopes too. But Americans are special cuz deep in our minds we still consider NRI's superior.

Tanveer you will know the pain if you experience. as mentioned by others we are humans bound with sentiments, pains, emotions. we will certainly feel the pain irrespective of origin and place of stay. i would say we feel for the insane psychic who did all this after all he is also human like us. it was something in mind and heart which made him to do so.

The Train blasts in Mumbai (7/11) were mourned in a similar way. Its nothing to do with Americans of Indian origin and stuff. All brutal deaths get such attention. Re-visit all such events mate and shut the f*** up

May God bring comfort to their family and fill the void left by the death of their loved ones.

And, to that ranting person who says we are ridiculed as a nation because so many of us are black. May be in addition to being black, we have the most HIV cases, more infant mortality cases than some African countries , unavailability of clean drinking water for millions, and more than half of the population cant afford 3 meals a day.

In addition to all these, the best form of respect is self-respect and I cannot imagine the moral bankruptcy and the indignation of self in someone who can jump into an obituary and talk about color.. eww how sick!

appauling..
by Satish R Babu on Apr 23, 2007 04:14 AM

My full condolences to the victims of VT, may their souls rest in peace. The way it has happened makes the institutions a soft target for the killers, also it can happen in any part of the world, of course many things happen first in the US. I am not sure if there is any longterm solution for this. But in this (VT)incident it is appauling for the authorities to carry on the activities as normal when two of their students dead bodies being in the campus, more so when the killer is not caught!!! its worse than any third world countries. The responsible people should be punished.

Why are defaming north indians in this context.Mr.gaurav goel may be north indian or he may be an anti social element who proclaims him self as north indi or isi agent.Similarly you are claiming as south indian.
both of you should present your individual views here.None of the north indian people elected mr.goel as their representative and similarly none of the south indians elected Mr.Sabu as their representative.
if oppurtunity is given to you people you will stat representing this humanity and abuse god it self.
i request both of you to mind your business.
india is one no north or south.

Who gave these people authority to represent north india and south india.
i doubt these people are ISI agents who claim indian names and start deviding mother india and indian brothers.

Respect for human life
by Anurag Gupta on Apr 23, 2007 01:08 AM  | Hide replies

There are so may comments here that say that this particular news is being scandalized or no importance given to other global deaths. What these people fail to realize that human life must first be respected by the immediate society to enable it to be respected by others.

The lives of VT victims have been made special not by the media or politicians or rich countries but by the people of the intitution that is VT. The rest followed later. Media simply reports what is happening thereby amplifying the emotion involved. Had there been no regard shown by VT, media would not have been able to create the so called hype.

It is same elsewhere. The deaths of Jews in holocaust were made special by Jews themselves over time and this got amplified by the media. This did not happen with the victims of Nanjing.

Who mourns the death of Iraqis? the Iragis are themselves killing each other denying the Americans any chance. It does not matter who was responsible for bloodbath eventuallu. It gets due coverage in all media regularly but who is holding services for the them? If Iraqis had been doing something for the victims, it would have been reported too and the world would have cared.

HOw many students and faculty came in support of the professor killed by mobs in India? the news was given due coverage by all sections of media but if the local people won't care enough out of fear or any other reason, why would others?

It is not media's folly to report Ash-Abhi wedding. Media is doing its job of reporting. People want to know more and that is why media is covering it. Blame the society if you want to but not the media.

Somebody aptly said: Charity begins at home.

Mr. Anurag, do you mean to say only the western society mourns and a service must be organized for the media to report? People mourn for the loss of loved ones but the means are different. In this case itself Rediff had this special correspondent report this news because Rediff thinks it is important for their business. I do not see Rediff doing such special reports for so many other tragedies. There was a blast in TN that killed about dozen people, there was this train-van crash that killed about another dozen people that never got its due attention from Rediff and Rediff only vomited news from PTI and other sources. It doesn't mean in those incidents, people threw the bodies down the drain and walked away. The fact is Rediff and other media publishing did not care to report. May be they are justified that reporting about a common man%u2019s death won%u2019t get enough attention; but then why portray Loganathan as if he is a martyr? I have nothing against Loganathan but did he die fighting for our country? Did he contribute anything for the cause of India? Is he an Indian citizen now? I bet he might have taken up American citizenship long time back. So for a man who got educated in his mother country India, then decided to serve America whose last wish was to be cremated in American soil, why we Indians and media give so much prominence? We don%u2019t show this importance or sympathy when our jawans are killed in Kashmir. Oh..I forgot..it is because they did not organize a service..right?

It just makes me sick to see all these politicians (Karunanithi, Sonia) and even our honorable Prime Minister talk about this. Did Bush talk about the death of Indian scientist who was killed by terrorist attack in Bangalore? Do we at least know the name of the scientist? Did Rediff do a special report on him to tell us his achievements and how good a person he was? What happened to Mani Kutty, the BRO driver who was abducted and killed in Afghanistan? He gave his life for India. Tell me how Loganathan is more important than these people?
