Search of Hapiness in satisfaction
by PANIWALA AMIN A on Apr 21, 2007 01:28 PM

This is one more warning signal to people who than that 'Lot of Money' will bring them comforts and happiness.
Love for money will bring hatred for others (specially your competitors and the persons who stand in your way to happiness) and violence.
With money one may get comforts but they don't get satifaction.
You get satisfaction only when you learn to love yourself - motivating you to distribute this love to people around you (and in all probability thru sprituality).

Do you agree that the Gun Crime is a very big problem in the US????

What stops the US government to show any interest to crub the increase of gun Crime?

What steps have been taken to nudge the rising gun crime all over the US?????

Nothing...the US government is busy elsewhere than focusing the social problems of the US...I would say this has been the case foe the past 20 years!!!

When anyone can buy a semi-automatic, loaded with bullets for $40, what would you expect to happen?

Just because, 32 people had been shot dead in V-Tech, this shooting incident had become well-known. Otherwise, I am sure it would have made news even in the local newspapers. Single shootings are taking place every 6 minutes in the US. Do you know that?????

So, common man can only bash the US government to take responsible for its open failure and not interested to crub the rising gun crime...

Many of those who critisise US don't mean to be Anti-Americans...be very clear about it....I do bash very badly about Indian government. But, at the same time I love India and very proud to be Indian....period...

Your American society is being misled by the successive ruling US governments.....Instead of preaching against WAR and teaching the value of peace and life, your government is forcing the Americans to accept the WAR.....and buy loads of lies for free!!!

So, this creates pressure and affects the society as whole......You may have to sit and read socio-political relations to understand it better....

The US mainline media is very cleverly and systematically misinforms the American public on all key political and social issues. The American public believes it as real!!! The corrupt media regime has well established links with all political 'big heads' of US politics. It is actually helping to stage a planned 'propaganda' directly focussed to 'brainwash' the American public with series of myths and illusion of lies as great as any ruthless 'dictatorship' could possibly do. The US mainline media never criticises the government or it's policies or president's actions and accountability. By taking democracy and peace for granted, president Bush had thoroughly done a great deal of damage to the United States than all the other previous US presidents put together. Job well done!!!

So, when something like this shooting happens, or Hurricane Katrina, people would naturally bash the US government..

I do and many do know that there are many peace loving gentle souls are there in the US like any where else...

Yes....it is about humanity as you said...But, does the US government know the value of it?

Think about it.....

PS: SEND ME A COWBOY HAT....NOT A GUN...

The need to have liberal laws against gun control in US arose since law and order situation is not under control. It is flabbergasting and ridiculous that a man with gun breaches the high security of a super sensitive and secret building of an organization like NASA. God save the US!

Shooting at NASA
by Shridhar Iyer on Apr 21, 2007 12:06 PM

After the Virgenia Tech incident, this is the second one in the recent past!.

In general, people in this highly competitive and fast moving days, have become very tense, stressful, leading to violent behaviour at the slightest provocation. Working couples have very little time for each other, leave alone the children. This leads to misunderstanding and breakup after a few years. In rare cases, this also leads to killing or murder.

Stopping of giving weapons may not be a solution either, because there will always be genuine cases, where you will have to give. Another source is blackmarket, from where you can get it at a price, if you are determined to get it. Whether it is India, or US, it is very difficult to ensure 100% safety for each and everyone.

We must learn to balance our life style, so that we lead a less stressful life. Listen to your spouse, children, so that they pour out their tensions, and feel light, and dont become killers or suiciders.

With best wishes,

V.Srinivasan.

Indians in US
by Oulag on Apr 21, 2007 12:04 PM  | Hide replies

Indians go and settle in US and get better jobs than India. They earn a lot and settle there itself and enjoy life. But when they die due to the problem in US, the Govt. gives compensation to their families, free travelling expenses for their families to bury them, quick visas arrangements for their families to go to USA. Ultimately they have worked for the USA and not for India but the Govt. helps them. This is unfair and the Govt. never looks at the people who die for the country and make achievements for the country.
These US Indians serve their purposes and not for their country - India. Govt. should stop supporting these foreign Indians who work for other countries other than India.

Hi peacelover
you are very much right...these people like "Oulag" and others are actually the selfish by-product of indian culture, they burn the train-bus in name of bandh, loot the people, kill and rape the females, take bribe and talking the big big theory...you find these people in outskirt of delhi, down-town of calcutta, suburban of mumbai...everywhere...they know they are looser in their life thats why they are selfish and talking always "naional sentiment" to hide their mentality...govt must take back their indian citizenship and send them in himalaya...

People rave and rant about NRIs without sufficient information. There are many reasons for brilliant Indians leaving the country and working abroad. One must take the time to study the same before shooting off our mouth. India is a unique country that rewards mediocrity and punishes talent; that is why we have all kinds of reservations, especially for mediocrity to flourish, so that the knowledge community around us can be diluted. There are no proper research facilities for brilliant researchers in India and ignorant and vicious ministers like Arjun Singh couldn't care less; no suitable jobs for the level of talent these people have - do you want them to work as couriers and cable operators with the talent that they have? They may not be sending foreign exchange to the Government of India for development schemes directly, but they send foreign exchange to maintain their families and dependents here; indirectly it helps the Government by augmenting the country's reserves. In case those who criticise do not know, there are a number of examples where out of sheer love for the country, NRIs have come back to set up an industry to provide employment to people like some of the critics on this site, but have been greeted by the wall of licenses, redtape, corruption and the stonewalling bureaucracy that they decided to drop it all and go back to their adopted country. Let us create the opportunities and infrastructure for talent to flourish in India and then criticise them, instead of doing so just out of sheer spite. Just in case anybody gets the impression that I am an NRI let me confirm I am very much in India, but feel sorry that NRIS are being targetted for their successes. Why dont you target the politicians who have brought the country to this pass, so that Indians have to go out of India to make a success of their lives? Can you? Otherwise best to just envy them and keep quiet. Another Indian trait of targetting people who cannot hit back, but take all nonsense from those who can!

Shooting episode at NASA
by Shridhar Iyer on Apr 21, 2007 11:55 AM

It is very difficult to have 100% security for each and everything in any country, be it India or the US.

The competition, the greed for things, money, etc. in today's life, have come in between love, family life, responsibilities towards self and family, etc. This leads to the tension or discontent in many people, leading to Psychiatry disorders. This appears to be the main reason for the Virgenia Tech and also the NASA shootouts. You will see in Metros, a typical husnand doesnt have time for parents, wife, and children as he is very busy from morning to night, trying to grow in his career, and earn as much as possible. The wife, if she works, has also the same problem. After some years of such a life style, both get frustrated, and behave violently even at the slightest provocation!.

Unless we learn to balance our life style, devote adequate time for self, family, and the society, etc. leading to less stressful life, such incidents may continue to happen, and might increase in the future.

Banning of giving licences for weapons may not be a foolproof solution either, as due to genuine reasons you may have to give weapons to some, of weapons can be purchased from the black market also, if you are determined to have one.

With best wishes,

V.Srinivasan.
