can happen anywhere
by on Apr 14, 2007 02:55 AM  | Hide replies

These mistakes happen once ina while. Good thing is that atleast some responsible people are at the right place to request aircraft to divert. Even the US mad mistakes very recently by surfacing their submarine into a boat full of people, killing many. Not condoning anyone, but lets all be thankful that there was no mishap this time.

I am sure that the real missile for some people on board that Indonesian flight would have been their flight itself. Blast a bomb anywhere and shout peace when kicked in the ass. Diplomatic protest ..i am sure it is a diplomatic joke.

This is really irresponsible behavior ... should be taken seriously !
by Superman aka who last crashed into a tree on Apr 14, 2007 02:17 AM  | Hide replies

The Defence Ministry, DRDO and associated bodies are entirely responsible for not informing the aviation ministry, and the airlines that use the Indian airspace or fly out of India.

Fortunately no disaster occurred, otherwise it would have created a major international Stir.

I used to stay near a contonement area, and we often heard of Army's RPGs and guided rockets flying outside the range and hitting civilian areas. These incidents never reach the press or media as Army says the people are responsbile, as to why they are living near a firing range.

Unfortunately, just like all the govt. procedures, this one will also be swept under the rug and forgotten.

Lakhotia, think from brain. Defense ministry has to issue NOTAM and they failed to do so. Pradip is educated and smart, unlike you and Prashant.

I agree that there should be better communication between different ministries but ultimately its not responsibility of members of parliament - congress or BJP to follow protocols/directions. its is responsibility of individual in charge of power to do so. We can%u2019t blame congress of BJP or even government as it is more of a failure of people taking responsibility or their act. Same time, It%u2019s even not a good idea to bang drums day before the test...!

So Shalin who is responsible for passing an order which is supposed to be passed by Defense Minister? It is defense minister! Then how can someone else but that lazy, indolent, and uneducated Congress's defense minister release or sign such a notice?

Dear Pradip,

What it has to do with congress? This can happen with BJP too. These are security matters. Such thing happen when u r testing missiles. Do India want to tell the whole world when we are going to test the missile?

If Indonesia is angree, dialogs can solve the issue. Its good that atleast defence official suggested them to return. I am happy that atleast they were awake to spot these flights and warn them.
Again about the hatred betn hindu muslim. Has no end to it, until the dialog betn the community starts. until muslims change their living standard, get some education, get into mainstream, think about the nation first than religion. and hindu orgs stop glorifying their beaten ass.

{{{{ It is an ICAO( Intl Civil Aviation Org) understanding that whenever air space is closed to civillian traffic for any duration a NOTAM( Notice to Airmen) is to be issued
In this case India did not issue a NOTAM in advance as is manditory.
Speaks poorly of our Defence ministry for not informing the Aviation ministry.
BTW even here in US NOTAMs are issued whenever air space is closed, and is followed meticulously, else there will be a major disaster, since any given time there are well over 3000 aircrafts in the US skies.}}}}

Check here you idiot Prashant. It has to do with Congress.
