Go out to the whole world and proclaim the good news. Day by day Indian values and the Indian way of proceeding are getting recognition world wide. This latest gesture by the Canadian authorities goes to show that people with open minds and good will are eager to acknowledge the divine aspect in other humans hailing from different backgrounds and spiritualities. Our best wishes to Pandit Damodar Sharma in his pastoral ministry among the children of God in Canada.
If Islam does not respect the other religions then why respect Islam? Why does Islam preach that Hindus (kafirs) should be killed? Unless Islam is reformed to respect other religions it does not deserve any respect. This is a two way street. Islam must respect other religions and then other religions will respect Islam.

Vijay is telling his personal views, which are quite enlightened. I do not hold my next door Muslim neighbour responsible for what Taliban is doing, so why should you hold Indian Christians responsible for what America is doing?
You should reform Islam and remove derogatory references to non-Muslims like "infidels" and sons of dogs and pigs, and God knows what else.

the difference between any and every religion is the way of following and worshipping. be it Hinduism, Islam, Christianity all are much above all of us, no religions are inferior, the difference is in the way you follow.

Yes I can add to that list (I am a hindu) 1. Nagaraj (Serpant) 2. Garuda (Eagle Bird) 3. Kalpa vriskha (Tree) I am not ashamed of it. I believe that my religion in this manner teaches me reverence to animals, birds, plantation, all of which are creations of God. Each religion has its own special features. These are to be viewed without any bias. All religions (Hindu, Islam, Christanity, Buddhism) teach only love, respect for each other, humanity and such lofty things. Let us not forget the basic tenets of our respective religions and start quarelling with others. If it makes you feel better, Mr. Aone, I will equally oppose anyone who denigrates islam. The character who has written under the penname of islam is obviously a prankster who is trying to create a needless controversy. Let us ignore this wretched felow.

Cow is worshipped because that form of life is one of the closest to Lord Krishna and the most sacred.
In periodical destruction of the world, once the earth sunk into the deep waters. Lord Vishnu, the great preserver, taking the form of a boar (Varaha), descended into the waters and drew up the earth with the help of his tusks.
Hanumanji As soon as Hanuman was born he felt hungry his mother could not satisfy him. Then he caught sight of Sun and thinking that to be a fruit he leapt after it. the Sun took flight but Hanuman chased him as far as Indras heaven. Here however Indra intervened and injured Hanuman's jaw with a thuderbolt.
Gajanan (Ganeshji) According the very well known Shiva-Purâna version, the Shiva's wife, Pârvatî the Mountaineer, was disturbed once by her husband who entered the house, even though she was taking her bath.
The goddess felt annoyed, because she didn't have any personal servant to guard her door. So, she rub her body skin and, with the perfumed unguents obtained, she molded the shape of a young boy, as glorious as daylight. Then, she granted him life and named him Ganesh, ordering that he should be on guard in front of her house.
When the child intended to impede the great god to enter the house, Shiva enraged, transformed himself in his Rudra form and requested the to attack Ganesh. In the battle, Ganesh got his head cut off.
Ascertaining the incommensurable disaster striking her son, Pârvatî was inconsolable. Unable to find the child head, Shiva grafted a elephant head on the dead body and gave him life again. Trying to repair his big mistake, he recognized Ganesh as his son and empowered him on all his servants; so he became "Ganapati".
Khandoba is not in form of a dog.......
The worship of Khandoba developed during the 9th/10th centuries from a folk deity into a composite god pocessing the attributes of Shiva, Bhairava and of Surya. He is depicted either in the form of a Lingam, or as an image riding on a bull or a horse.

Aone don't be sorry my friend, no hard feelings buddy. all religions are great, our doubting of any religion or their following will not make it inferior, the problem lies with our understanding about the religion. almost on every message board we find people abusing Islam or Hinduism or other religions, i would just like to ask them how much do they know about that respective religion? Islam in itself is great, the problem worldwide has arised 'cause people who term themselves as Muslims or followers of Islam don't really understand Islam, the interpretation of the religion has gone wrong and not the religion. All RELIGIONS in themselves are simply great.

HIndus are called naturalists -- they revere everything they see around them and consider them as god's gift -- from trees to rivers to mountains to animals to celestial bodies. Hindus nature and universe as God's miracle. Naturalist religions are different from revealed religions. There is no prophet in them. Personal spiritual experience is more important than what any saint or prophet said long ago. Hinduism says: "Do not believe any spiritual truth unless you have experienced it yourself. Double check everything that is told to you about God or the ultimate reality." That is different from revelaled religions which tell you to believe totally what the prophet told you. There is heavy punishment for any questioning or doubt. Hinduism is spiritual democracy. You double check every scripture like you would check anything you buy from a salesman.
India and Indians are shining everywhere. almost all of west is adopting or following the Hindu teachings, but is is really sad that people her in India are not really understanding the importance. Hinduism basically is not a religion, it is a way of life.

This is just a statement repeated by Muslims to feel good and reassure themselves that people just cannot resist their religion. It is all hogwash. Ignore it. dear m, u mean to say islam and christianity does not spead hierarchies. dear m, just look at te christian religion, it could not even unite 40-50 crore christian population under one nation.ISLAM also speaks of unity and universal brotherhood but could not even keep 100 crore muslim united. Hinduism has kept india united.Even a bihari or sikh comes to visit tirupati temple, or even a maharashtrian goes to vaishnov devi . 90 crore hindus, and still united.......this is called religion
