Polluting water ?? huh .. well said ... maybe u must be some software engineer sitting in front of a computer and typing all these nonsense. Software industry is the industry which is THE most anti-natural. Right from the monitors to chips(ICs) to the tissue papers/plastic cups everything causes pollution.

On one way some people do make money with this festival which is bad....but on the other way....Telling the things as myths with ur half mind is nothing but showing ur own stupidity. YOur own knowledge in talking about Hindu Culture is not enough to judge anything about these rituals ..
If you are really concerned about Environment ..make ur best efforts to make the people make nature friendly statues...Instead of sitting and writing some shit. So i suggest you to either shut urself in or make careful analysis about what u r writing
It is really a good tradition to be practised and remembered for years to come. Such huge celeberations would surely create social well-being among fellow citizens.
