This is indeed a warm story of a New Yorker's experience. It's got a nice, fuzzy feel to it. Good writing.

A New Yorker's 1st Diwali

It's a very nice article describing about how the author came to know about Deepavali and it's significance in India. Every Indian should feel proud that we have very great traditions and customs which are unmatchable. It will be exciting for the Non-Indians to know about how we celebrate the festivals and what are the reasons for each and every particular thing we follow during different festival days.
I appreciate the author's findings. It should be lesson to all those who are considering our festival days as just holidays and killing the time by watching Idiot box.
