She succumbed to her ego
by zeb on Oct 26, 2006 01:29 PM  | Hide replies

She is lost, doing opposite of what she is famous for. A communal lady, she has supported anti-national propaganda against hindus, along with the marxists. In return she would expect more lime light as president.

You must be sufering from a warped and perverted mind to talk of a lady of such outstanding capabilities and even at 92 still showing the way to a perfect life. Go down to Kanpur and see if you can emulate her life and selfless devotion to the less unfortunate. What have you done in life till date to sit in judgement and pass such horrible comments. Just list out your achievements and then we will see how HOLLOW you sound. Loud talk with no positive contribution is the bane of our country. You are not fit to wash her sandals what talk of washing her feet.

Happy Birthday Captain Lakshmi. Nice to know that she is still active at 92 when most people think they are old and sit at home idling their time when they are only 60. An example of how people should lead their lives actively and constructively.

I think you are drunk, so you are commenting all these. Feel for your country and its people first then through any comment in air. Your such comment can,t make difference to that great lady.

Wonderful piece of reporting
by sudip majumder on Oct 25, 2006 01:45 PM

tears started rolling down from my eyes. I am not so sure whether any of our students or any of our sol called new generation ever her her name. same thing is certainly true for our 2/3rd criminal politicians. Long live Gandhigiri with cronies and corruption. Once in a while this kind of article reminds us there are still souls in India who does not provide a lip-service but truly care for India. You may not like it but these souls can only exist among the mindset of leftist. Farmers are comittimg suicide ; 60% of the population does not have a clean water ; and guess what - our new genre pursue only sheer materialism that too - when they do not have the substance to back them up - Anyway, one can expect that when icons like Narayan Murthy, Bachhan, Tendulkar and Ash of the world cover the majority of the headlines. Print/e-media is truly an entertainment business - 4th pillar of democracu has a role to play - unfortunately it is not playing that very well.

Birthday wishes to Dr.Lakshmi and also for all her courage, patriotism and services to this nation.

I feel India should have got freedom through overpowering British, but freedom through non-violence and Gandhiji\'s weakness to Nehru has plunged this country to worse to worst. Freedom has come for free(without paying a price), hence Indians do not know the price of it and are asusual thick skinned.

Legacy?
by Sameer on Oct 24, 2006 04:25 PM

She is like thousands of those congress workers, who have lost the original ideals and are doing exactly opposite of what their leaders wanted them to.

Look at congress, is it in any way to what Gandhiji wanted?

And she is falsely hiding behind Netaji and INA's name and is acting foolishly in her new leftist organisation, like the other leftist lunatics.

May India be safe from such 'leaders'.

A true inspiration to many young women who even today can not think beyond religion and materialism.she has shown us how she 'grown up'she is by working for the poor, marrying out of community and generally taking steps to empower less privileged.may we have more such ladies!bless her.

Lakshmi Loknathan -Sahgal Still Chabili in XXI century
by DharmendraGoel on Oct 24, 2006 01:05 PM  | Hide replies

Panchkula, Oct. 24,Tuesday,2006.
This great Lakshmi Vaidyanathan nee Sahgal, once the commander of Ladies' Legion of Azaad Hind fauj , wife of Prem Sahgal mother of Ms. Subhasini Ali and
possibly A peer of heroines like Late Srimati Durga Vohra partisan of Chandra Shekhar& Azaad Bhagat Singh or Kalpna Dutta of the armed freedom -fighters under Surya Sen of Chit Gaon is matchless Ikon that any self respecting Indian would bow to venerate. Now , at 92,still she battles for mercy and quest of liberating men -women and the immiserised
to true liberation after nearly 60 yrs of decolonisation.her peers are few.Let younger generation remember her great courage and dedication and reflect why we in India are in the throes of
ugly rate -race and total lack of dedication to the egalitarian Ideals unlike all those freedom fighters Lakshmi , Durga and Kalpna who thrust their whole being to see Indian Soul reborn in the Image of a la Subhas , Bhagat Singh and Bhagwati Vohra or
Surya Sen...will our adolescent like to learn of these Paradigms of freedom shades better than Joan DE Arc..D. Goel
