Flouting US regulations on fire safety measures goes counterproductive to the very concept of yoga, a component of spiritualism. The person concerned deserves to be punished.

I believe he got what he deserved.. whatever he is doing.. he should keep the regulations in mind and abide by this. And am happy that inspite of being a celebrity studio, it was fined. Cant imagine how a similar case in India would have ended....

Renowned Medical scientists have also pointed out that Bikram's methods can cause irreversible physical damage. Even other Yoga experts have severely criticised Bikram. For example, Aadil Palkhivala, founder of the Yoga Centers in Washington, was more pointed: Not everybody agrees as to his sanity. The Bikram method is a mockery of a very dignified and very great science and art, Palkhivala said, Hes made yoga commercialized and Hollywoodized and destroyed it. What he teaches is not yoga. According to Dana Flynn, owner of the Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in New York, Bikram's focus on only 26 of yogas 84 poses represents neither the essence of the tradition nor its spiritual dimensions.
