You did wrong. As Krishna would have suggested Arjun,
a few casualties and inconvenience for a few thousand people are but a small price to pay in this dharm yudh, and you were scared to bear the cost.
Our politicians knew your weakness, and they will only get encouraged to do more damage to the country.
Physicians, you did wrong by returning to work.

Apparently quotas are the flavor of the hour, with a Cong flailing about for a straw in their self-made sea of failures. I had read in this very same rag, that in the late 40's, India's first FM Shanmuga Chetty proposed to increase the literacy rate from the existing 10% to over 90% in 10 years. The focus was on primary education and a good chunk of the budget was allocated for it. But Nehru and his crony sycophants nixed the idea, saying that the Indian economy would not be able to absorb all these literates. The real reason, as the story goes, was that the Cong big-wigs, who were all from the higher castes, to stave off competition, wanted to keep the lower castes perpetually illiterate and ignorant. Now it's this very same hypocritical Cong who are foisting quotas on this fractured land as an antidote for their criminal neglect and abysmal failures on all fronts.

Hi all,
One thing we can avoid future generation to does not fall in to quota issue.
My opinion is All General category He/She Should Marry with a Backward Class She/He, so in future These politician will come to know that there is no need to increasing quota for the backward classes. Then it will Help Our Childern very much.

How nice!

These so called doctors are not only rude and but do not work at the best of times.Of course, I am totally against reservations but there is a element of humanity that needs to be taken into account. The apathy shown to poor patients by both the doctors and government was shocking to say the the least. Both the parties have murders to reckon with in their conscience, that is, if they have any link to such intangible things as conscience. But murderers they are! And I wish both the parties should taken into account, i.e. the doctors, Mr. Arjun Singh and others. I should say that the MP Lottery case wherein Mr. Singh was involved should be opened and criminal investigation instigated againist him. But of sourse, deaf and dumb media which made the fact of not asking relevant and pertinent questions to the poweful into an art form, does not help things! God save the Country!

It is amazing that how a handful of doctors who don't have any social responsibility, who are insensitive towards the weak and the poor and who have no feeling of commitment towards the system which created them and the poor taxpayers of this country, could make the government and the country literally beg them to do their duty. Instead, they could have approached the government with their grievances and if not satisfied with the assurance from government could have challenged the policy in court of law. Instead of abstaining from work, the so called meritorious doctors could have got public sympathy, if as a matter of protests they were doing their work for one month without accepting any salary from the government or doing one hour extra work everyday. It is good that they are at least afraid of the Supreme Court of this country. The society and the government must ensure that such unlawful activities are dealt with severely and criminal negligence on the part of doctors in doing their work will not be tolerated in future.

Its a great spirit the docs have shown. Nation and the govt. should thank them. But I would ask the docs to keep their senses open and keep a tab on the quota proceedings by parliament. Lets not cool the things within as this may be what the politicians want to implement quota smoothly.

Mom's participation in chat session
by Abhinav Kaul on Jun 01, 2006 11:48 AM

I think now rediff should go to Tendulkar's mom, then Gavaskar's mom so on so forth, asking them what they cook and whether they would like to come online to chat.I think that this attempt by rediff is ridiculous and shows total lack of imagination for what to cover and what not to.This is certainly not news and worth not even posting.I think if you had got Yuvraj,it would still have made sense. This cannot be called a creative idea,at all.
