Thus spake the late Prophet Isaiah of old: Is. 1/13-17
by Dr.Cajetan Coelho on Dec 15, 2006 02:01 PM

Vain offerings, bring them no more !
This incense of yours is an abomination !
Enough of your celebrations and thronged assemblies where none but sinners meet !
The New Year begins !
The feast day comes around, how it cloys the appetite!
Wash yourselves clean !
Spare us the sight of your busy wickedness !
To your wrongdoings say farewell.
Learn rather how to do good, setting your hearts on justice, righting the wrong, protecting the marginalised, ostracised and stigmatised !

The clamour for reservations in Christianity and Islam!
by Jaganniwas Iyer on Dec 04, 2006 05:07 PM

So the cat is out of the bag. Despite all their professed 'equality' and 'absence of caste system', Islam and Christianity are no different from the faith they target in order to win adherents. Islam has its upper caste Khans and Sayyads openly discriminating against the lower Qureshis, Ansaris, etc., whereas the record of Christianity is even more shameful. All talk of religions conversions offering a life of respectability and social justice is just hot air, and the clamour for reservations by Christianity and Islam now openly validates this truth, long sought to be suppressed.

Want to have their cake and eat it too

Why did they convert to Christianity if not to escape being treated badly by upper caste Hindus? Christianity is supposted to be caste free, right? Ha! So want to convert plus claim benefits of reservation? Either return to Hinduism and claim benefits or stay "equal" as Christians and don't claim reservation.

Even death does not redeem them

Why Dalits should identify themselves as "dalit christians' after religion is changed?
Christianity has no castes as they proclaim.
Stop identifying yourself as Dalit, then problems will be less.
Unfortunately, Dalit leaders are misguiding poor dalits, talking of reservation, supporting loot and riots. And poor good dalit faces hatrate from others.
This is not equality.
And when there are cases of discrimination, even after 60 years for independance, govt policies to help dalits are NOT correct.

Even death does not redeem..
by labrea on Dec 04, 2006 05:02 AM

Even in death these poor oppressed folks are once again oppressed and denigrated. Is there no end to this abominable oppression?? When does a person become a person like any other person, when even in death they are deprived of even the most basic courtesy of respect? What kind of society is this?
