That line " I bacame a local in the local" would haunt any one who is a mumbaikar or a bombaywalla.
A very touching article.

Why I don't want to take the local train again
by Rajagopal on Aug 11, 2006 05:29 PM

Hi, I was working in Mumbai till march 2006.I am now in Europe. I take a train to office. But the difference is my shirt doesn't get torn.People don't push me to get into the train.Ofcourse the population in European Metros is much lower than Mumbai. But the government does not think of a solution.
Mumbaikars, didn't you ever see people sitting on top of Virar train and a 25000 Watt wire passing just a few centimeters ahead of the people on top of the trains?. Didn't you ever read of people falling from top of train?.Don't you remember Govida travelling in Borivali local in his publicity stint in 2004 Elections?. Don't you remember his promise of better transport?.Why does it take so long to lay tracks from Borivali to Virar?. Why do you always think that there is no scope of improving local trains and feel happy that there is a train every 3 minutes?.How many times did you stop boarding a train at Dadar because it was already overcrowded?.
Is this the spirit of Mumbai not asking the above questions?. If it is so, I am happy that I am far off from the 'spirit'. I might have hurt a few Mumbaikars. Sorry guys, but these are the questions you should get an answer from the gov.

Hi Girish,

We want more people like you who find good things. People always easy in finding faults like poverty, slums, potholes, traffic, and so on It is up to you how do you look on life there is plenty of things, which make you, feel better. I must say I felt cherished when I read your message. Terrorist failed me to terrify. You are winner for giving me smile for being a Mumbaikar. Looking more inspiration from you.
