Absolutely Unexceptable
by Nizamuddin on Dec 10, 2006 04:12 PM

Hello Everyone,

This is not a matter of debate, whether she can or not wear the such dress. It is obivious and must for her to go with the laws of islam. Irrespective she declined herself to be a muslim.

However, it is widely believed that under muslim community womens are downtrodden and living a secondary life. But dear readers, please be informed that islam is the only and first religion giving womens their complete rights with certain limitations. If you feel that liberlism will give women a satisfactory life, it is completely wrong. Infact because of this so called liberal and modernism, you find the high rate of crime.... concerning to women is happening. Womens are to be respected and treated with love and care, irrespective of the relations you hold. They are tender and needs to be taken care with their guardians. I am sure majority of people enjoy their external beauty rather than appreciating her sports ability. I do respect her as a female, but obiviously not accept what she is upto. I am definately no one to put my thoughts on her, but i do pray she comes back to right path. This wordly success is temporary and for a short time. may allah show her right path.

Sania and her dress
by jyo on Nov 15, 2005 01:28 AM

I Agree to everybody's debate over sania's dress and think everyone is right on his/her place. As per muslim laws a woman is not allowed to expose as it may arouse a ill feeling i agree to this pint. But my dear frieds, thisis tennis, an international game where countries fight with each other to win fame and just for a mere reason of dress we India cannot lag behind with a super performance from Sania. I think matured every game in this world has negative mentality spectators who come not only to watch the sports stars but for something else.. it is a part and parcel of life and life is a game everyone has to overcome challenges only then he / she will emerge as a winner. So neglect the minor issues like dress code...coz here Sania is representing not only like a muslim But as an Indian. AND ONE LAST THING "IF OUR MIND IS CLEAR THERE IS NO BLOODY PERSON TO POINT OUT THE BAD THINGS.." So be clear and postivie minded from your heart and cheer sania. If it were roaming about in markets it was agreeable to wear traditional muslim dress...but this is an International arena. Probably india has so many Sania's hidden behind the false veils. Please help them take out.

It's true 'a goat only trusts it's butcher'
by Jay on Sep 29, 2005 07:38 PM

I certainly go with Sania.Whether r not she is a tennis player, she has the right to wear what she wants. As long as she(r anyone) doesn't cross the limitations.
I really don't understand the concept of Islam(r any religion) on imposing such useless 'rules & regulations'(who made them? only God knows). How come a lady has to wear a burkha & not Muslim men? Why? If the reason is that such kind of dresses provoke men's sexual desires, how come many women in Pakistan, where majority of them wears burkha, get raped for every hour?
I've seen majority of comments here as 'Allah said this' 'Allah said that' & maulvis r knowledgable, this & that? R u really sure that what they've said is exactly what Allah said. How much truthful is the that particular 'maulvi' to God?
Be good not bcauz Allah/Ram/Jesus said.Be good bcauz that is what we 'humans' meant to be.Anyway, that depends on how much mature is one's mind.
What amuses me is that even though Muslims, here in India, hav been given the freedom they need, they still want to go under such ridiculous Maulvis.
I heard of a say that 'a goat only trusts it's butcher'.So it is true.
Note: I don't hav any 'anti' thing against any religion.

RE:sania mirza s dress code
by a_khan on Sep 22, 2005 09:12 PM

Dear friend , I strongly condemn the dress code of sania mirza , being a muslim lady she should not have put on her such dress . Islam is a religion of sacrifice , at any point of time we should be ready to sacrifice our lives, wealth, fame etc in the path of Allah, not like sania mirza , who for the sake of sports , for fame can go down to the extent of wearing such dress, the biggest treasure of an women is her chastity and purdah should be voluntary by fear of Allah not through force.Sania might be bringing laurels to the country but she is a shame to muslims.

athiq, What a thoughtless statement but I know where you are coming from. I am surprised at your logic of doing country proud but bringing shame to muslims. Doing country proud is reason enough to celebrate. I suggest you put a purdah over your eyes and mind (I see Sania as a talented sportswoman which you fail to see or are too busy looking at other places) or move back to camel country. (I shake my head in despair)

Amazing insight.. Mr.Shenoy!
by RaviM on Sep 22, 2005 08:05 AM

Mr.Shenoy, it is an amazing article..Despite all this criticism don't be ashamed to restrict yourself to only a communal view of things. On the contrary, I feel your honesty needs to be appreciated.
.
Consider these examples of hypocricy.
1. Vegetarians, hatred, meat eating and intolerance.
2. Religious rioters
3.Politicians
4. Lawyers who defend the criminals in the name of justice.
5.The ubiquitous clean chits aquired by many celebrities/politicians from various agencies
6.Bribe-taking and public postures
7.Page 3 dames sitting at the feet of babas and Gurus
8.Religiocity of the greedy
9. 'Nationalists' and the religious strifes they nurture
10.Praise for stock market rally and honesty
11.Unbiased journalists
12.Reactions to match-fixing in Cricket
13.cricketers
14. Page 3 aunties, their gigolos, and then spiritualism.
.
I truely appreciate that you can live with all the above, but had to write a 1000 word article about a little girl's teeny-weeny hypocricy because the fact that she is a muslim, and that maulavis figure. ..and of course, first time in the history our great nation a sports-person has been found a hypocrite. it brooks no sympathy...

VINAY
Dress Code
by VINAY on Sep 20, 2005 03:14 PM

What sania is wearing is not the matter of discussion
only thing is that how she is making INDIA praise, famous in the field of sports. Once she has chosen the great field of sports, she has to wear skirt & T-shirt thats all, nothing is wrong in it. The people who are asking about her dress sense, they should think in better approach and think wider.

Its will really disturb Sania. We should allow her to focus on her game. She is playing for our nation and creating new records and she is really doing well.
