The role played by the CEC is very crucial in such a large democracy. The former CEC is acting at his best as he was used to adopt the newer technologies during the election. The improvement must be made in adopting very frequently to the new technology and also provide some fund for developing more technologically driven election voting.

When we implement our democracy after Independence are we ready ?
Not yet. Indias worst enemy of its democracy is its illiteracy. This will bar the people from the chance to get information. We cannot equate the quality of the decision by a Keralite and one from Bihar.
When the country was not ready for the democracy how can we achieve a better democracy. The quality of the input will decide the quality of the output whatever the process in between.
May be this will change by next gen. We have to eradicate out illieteracy and poverty. Our system will be better and clean.
No cong govt can escape from the blame from keeping the Indian democracy in such a shape. That was their tactics for survival. I hope this cheating will not work anymore. Thats why we have a vibrant and strong opposition. And only becuase of it cong will never have numbers there own and that is good for the country.
It seems that we are going through a very happening stage of our democracy. Every second day, the news portals are filled with allegations, arguments, debates and criticism surrounding our democratic institutions. But there is something in the air of New Delhi, that elevates the 'odd' ones of our bureaucracy to the thrones. And our democracy is ensured thorns, under the weight of their political-fat. These guys are right, our democracy sure needs a face lift. Boy! how about keeping a week aside for it, of the likes of LIFW. Here, all the major players can walk the ramp adorned with the colours of their creative genius(even the wierdest of their designs cud be displayed in public). We can call up our diplomatic friends from the democracies, autocracies and monarchies of the world, to make an 'impartial' judgement. It could save this ever-continuing debate on the state of our democracy. We can spare our time and energy to discuss something lighter and the media could have spared a lot of space as well.
In 99 out of 100 elections that took place in India since independence, the voters had no real choice but to choose one rogue/criminal/rascal/gangster from many ! And we call this democracy !!!
I think India has set big example for us that only strong democratic system can hold multi-ethnic society together. In 1971, Pakistan was broken by India due to luck of democracy and I dont think we would be able to keep this federation going without ture democracy. Indians should always feel proud of its strong democratic institutions and India Election Commission is one of them. No India Army General can ever think of interfering in Politics System of India, because he knows that he would be faired within no time.Being a student of Political Science, Indian Democracy is always source of Inspiration for me. With few demerits its still providing its citizens something to cheer about it. Azlan Khan, Peshawar, Pakistan
For the past 50 years democracy in india had more negatives than positivies, it created to many violence. How can you say india glows as a democratic nation, despite india's current economic growth, i would say there is a big rift between india's poor and the india's middle class and rich. we have two contradictary societies in place with a democracy which will spoil the nation's development in the long run.
atlast when people like jayalalitha and Narendra modi as chief minister's of two important states of india. india cannot be saved until these people quit politics.
