"The workers also set ablaze some vehicles, including one belonging to the police, on fire."

the last i checked, setting ablaze is a directive towards a situation dealing with fire. Whats the need for the 'on fire' at the end?

This is a sad skirmish. Shows how there is an uprising in the proliteriat, the skies are changing their hue. Lets see if there is a second coming at hand or not!

Police + Honda = Danda
by Arunabha Das on Jul 26, 2005 08:23 AM

Dear Sir,
The television has done a marvellous job in bringing the reality to our drawing rooms.

The hypocrisy of our polititians, the arrogance of our adminstrators and the sheer mindlessness of our sepoys was so very well demonstrated in the thrashing of the Honda workers by the Haryana police.

Its nice to dream of putting a man on the moon and also becomming an economic power. 'Mera Desh Mahan' Really all that we need to do is increase our security fource(police); starve them physically and mentally so that they live of the land and when ever necessery release them on the stupid public like in Gurgaon.

Police are always the scapegoat
by Saunak on Jul 26, 2005 07:21 AM

Politics is such a pain. The police is always blamed even if they do it in self protection.

The mob or general public or even the gangsters can attack the police but if the police take one wrong step, they are headed for trouble.

Inspite of risking thier lives everyday, all they get is inquiries, low pay, no facilities and most importantly no support.

Its quite sad that the system itself is its greatest enemy.

This has been a shocking incident!
by Prabal on Jul 26, 2005 12:25 AM

I am afraid that your write-up of the Gurgaon incident bespeaks of your casual attitude about serving the society by informing others of all the facts, which had taken place. You fail miserably. Channels like Aajtak showed how brutally police had administrated sticks on to the HEADS of the agitators and there were repeating it incessantly. This is beyond belief. How can the police target the head of those poor workers who might become vegetables! You readily present what a hag like Aish has done in Hollywood or what Prize Kareena of big lips and massive head has won due to her Punjabi benefactor the PM himself. Just because these zero glamour zero talent semi-humans have been put up on a media created pedestal are we supposed to look at those dreadful faces day after day. Have you analyzed yourself and have you ever thought just because you think Aish is beautiful or Kareena is talented that the rest of us may not think so. What is happening? I feel that you're worse than the state controlled media of the Soviet Union.

A Bruised Indian
A Barbaric Act
by A Bruised Indian on Jul 26, 2005 12:02 AM

Injuring those poor workers so ruthlessly, is worst than a barbaric act. Their skulls have cracked, serious injuries inflicted, bloodshed. These policemen do not even have the right to call themselves civil servants As they are not even civil and nor do they serve the society. Those poor orkers who do not have money to feed their family, from where to they bring money to treat themselves. watch TV clips and ur hearts bleeds with those pictures. Imagine those facing it. Those policemen should be terminated from their jobs, if u cannot preach humanity, u do not have the right to serve the society.

Honda workers, cops clash

While looking at TV live, I felt that it was initially the fault of the Honda employees that they got voilent. The way they demonstrated, it was obvious that Police will do the necessary to control the situation.

This was must even on the Police side, as the People try to take law in their hand and destroy the public property too... atleast they must be aware, and some politician mixup in this situtation makes it difficult for cops to handle the situation.
This is a good step taken by the Police to control and atleast to let the protestors know... DONT PLAY WITH LAW.
