Brave Anjali Gupta
by Anjani Upadhyay on Dec 09, 2005 05:05 PM

The struggle which Anjali Gupta is doing nowadays, that shows her extra ordinary courage for fighting against all odds in this men dominated society. This is an exemplary examle to all the womens who are passing through such tragic situations in their not only office as well as personal life. In order to India become superpower if there is such gender disciminiation in highly respected jobs, then how the dream will come true. I applaud Ms. Anjani Gupta to carry on the struggle against all odds and get the justice if she is right. This will set a trend to all those who are facing such situation in their daily life.

Anjali Gupta
by Anonymous on Dec 09, 2005 04:47 PM

This is unfair.

I believe that the force and determination that Anjali has gone court to court to knock the door pleading to hear her case with such strong conviction and it was all unheard. it is like another injustice to a woman who has not committed a crime. I think Air force should listen to her once again with all the help of using Scientific methods where one cant tell a lie. I pray for her that Almighty give her the strength and all that requires to prove that she is not guilty and shall be set free. And people should be punished of their guilty and wrong that they have done.

IAF
by vigeasva on Dec 09, 2005 06:26 AM

It is very easy for a woman to complain of sexual harassment. The onus shifts on the male to disprove it. IAF has a laid down system and it is not easy for a male officer to harass a lady officer. All officers have direct access to the Commander, even airmen have such access. The best way to get publicity is to allege harassment. The fact is that in IAF, a woman freindly atmosphere exists and the lady officers have a easy time as compared to male officers. The ladies are given the lighter duties and well protected by the males. All in all a sad incident.

by sudhir suri on Dec 09, 2005 05:55 AM

Media men try not to embarass the Indian Air Force.
Creating sensation may be your forte, but creating problem for an organization which has word INDIAN attached to it is a moral crime.
Next time again there will be more women coming out with the story of sexual harassment and the media will be to happy to sensalationise the event .
People do not join Indian Air Force for cheap sexual favors .
The organization has stake of hudreds of people who lives are at stake in the FLYING operations.
Please do not undermine an organization.

Hail India

Excellent.
Wonder what they will do to all the senior IAF/Army/Navy commanders wasting public/non-public money by installing as many as twenty A/Cs without having sufficient pay for clearing even their electricity bills, using unfair means and even resources like military aircraft to build up unaccountable non-public funds worth crores of rupees to finance their lavish lifestyles, build palacial houses which are hundreds of times more costlier than their actual earned pay and allowances, and such many more embezzlements. Just go and investigate what has happened recently at AFGIS New Delhi.
But we Indians are slaves who allow people in power to get away from any damn thing in this world and by making scapegoats like Anjali Gupta.
Long live India

The mighty go scot free
by A on Dec 09, 2005 05:36 PM
Once again the hallowed armed services has failed to admit the existence of the rot within it.As Anjali Gupta made her allegations public and dared to approach the civilan justice system, the mighty air force had to flex its muscle to protect the its elite officers. It has brushed under the carpet the issue of corruption among its senior officer. It has chosen to punish Anjali Gupta on flimsy grounds, rather than investigate the wrong doings of its commisioned officers. Its once again protected the exclusive male bastion of the armed forces. This episode gives a strong negetive message to the women who aspire to join join armed forces. It also sent a strong warning to junior services personnel that simply cannot go against their seniors however guilty they may be.

Unfair?
by Addy on Dec 08, 2005 09:10 PM  | Hide replies

In a male dominated society, it appears as though Anjali Gupta made a mistake by accusing her male superiors. Upon reading this article, I got the feeling that the the proceedings of the trial are unfair. There might be truth in arguing that Ms. Gupta accused her superiors falsely, but the conviction with which she tried to report her case provides substantial evidence supporting her. The fact that she was ready to stand and fight, although she knew the odds were minimal, makes her seem honest. Therefore, at this point the IAF seems to have made a misjudgement in court-martialing her before even giving her a fair trial. Until the accusations of sexual harrasment are judged fairly, Ms. Gupta should be free of all charges.

dear sir, I can not agree with you. Do you think that all the male officials having the same mentality?
There are people who respects women and cooperate. An organisation like IAF needs respect to individuals and all the above need Discipline.
