Brass Tacks
Author is elite yet dumb
by Brass Tacks on Nov 30, 2013 02:18 PM  | Hide replies

The author at her best is trying
to tell India had nothing of its
own and all the good things
including Irani samosa and
pyar and mohabbat in Indian
lives came from outside.

there seem to be no end to
this pseudo pragmatism.
Farsians came to India as
refugees because moghuls
tortured their lives within
15 years of their conquest.

But they were given the best
treatment which every phoren
person get in this soil. Best
location for their homes and
shops and almost tax free living
even today for all those big homes
they own in walkeshwar and
chowpatti along the marine drive.

At best the author could have
questioned when we treated
them so well why are we getting
treated like thieves when you go
there?

Completely agree with you, Parsis were forced to leave their home country like Pandits were hoarded away from KAshmir. Iran has a great history and very ancient civilisation like India. Post Inquilab entire country is taken over by izlami radicals and they literally destroyed their great country. Nobody to blame but only it people.

Re: Aryans from Iran?

Sheela Bhatt,

It is one of the good articles, but then you made the biggest bluder by saying that Aryans gifted words like Pyar, Mohabbat etc to India. Do you know, according to recent scientific revelations, there was no such Aryan invasion on India (read abt Saraswati and Pre-Harappan civilizations). By this you mean to say that Persians were Aryans? The real meaning of Arya in Sanskrit is noble, and Max Muller and McCauley's children twisted 'Arya' and devised 'Aryan invasion theory'. Unfortunately, educated Indians like you are repeating the same like parrots without even knowing the truth about it! Please do your homework before writing such sentences....

A small correction... its Tehran and not Baghdad
by Sameer on Aug 24, 2005 11:00 PM

The author mentioned that Ahmedinejad was the former mayor of Baghdad, but he was a mayor of Teheran...
And also wanted to highlight the glitch of use of word 'Aryans'..

Aryans from Persia?
by Ravi on Aug 24, 2005 01:42 AM

The author seems not to be aware of the fact that the british-introduced theory of the purported Aryan invasion has long been debunked. In fact, modern archeological research proves that Aryans emigrated *out* of India, contrary to the myth created by the british that they invaded and settled down in India, and thus civilized the otherwise barbaric native Indians.

Please note that Mr.Mahmud Ahmadinejad is former mayor of Tehran
and not former mayor of Bagdad as mentioned in your article.
