By choosing to contest from UP with the help of Samajwadi party is an error of judgement on the part of Anil Ambani. Coming from a great business house, he does not need this kind of political company. It may in fact affect his company business. Already seen openly in the company of Amar Singh, Mulayam etc. has eroded his image in a small way. But this step could prove to be a major error of judgement both for his personal credibility and business leadership. It would have been better for him to have contested from Maharashtra with the help of BJP, Congress, NCP and Shivsena. Such a step would have been possible only for him.
Its' really wonderful to know that finally, someone as estemed as Mr. Ambani has decided to join the fray of politics, and that too in the elders' house. Its noteworthy to see that young but big entrepreneurs are taking due interest in the development of nation, and realize their duties, well.
why else will he become a rajya sabha member ! and interesting to note that he is contesting as an independant candidate which means congress will have no objection !
His dad, late Shri Dhirubhai, had the bones to become the PM of India, but he had his scruples in place not to enter even any of the Houses, though he had his people omnipresent not just in the Houses but almost everywhere.
Although he did not frame the government policies, he influenced them to a great interest for the benefit of his group in particular and industry in general.
It is not understood why Mr. Anil Ambani would like to permit such a distraction of his mind which is supposed to be rivetted and focussed on RIL whose shareholders would hardly admire this step.
