Best of Luck Doc.
by darkangel on Jul 04, 2004 09:17 PM

I wish the best of luck to Dr. Man,ohan singh. God knows that with the likes of Lallu and Mulayam among acolleagues, the nice and wise man, who gave us economic reforms (he beleives in outsourcing so much that he supports outsourcing of Indian governance), really needs it.

Undoubtedly, one of the finest Indians.
by chanakya on Jun 07, 2004 01:27 PM

In the wrong company !

At the wrong time !!

He would hardly grow into a full-fledged PM that the nation would like him to be !!!

He is not the PM of the safed-topi.

He is an UPA PM, unfortunately for the nation !

He would be a stunted PM.

Stunted by his own leader.

Further stunted by the vaampanthees.

May God help him save the nation.

Good for Congress, BJP and the hardworking Common man
by Ravi on Jun 04, 2004 07:18 PM

India is certainly in for better days

A Prime Minister who seems to have come up in life by sheer hard work , dedication and sincerity to the job that is on his hand

A Primeminister who was never a "Politician"

This will encourage genuine people to come into politics

Good for the congress - because a new leader is born and soon time may come that the congress wins votes in Manmohan Singhs name. They have a new leader. If congress is to survive then they should ensure that there is just one center of power and the dynastic rule is finished forever.

Good for the BJP - because they have learnt the lesson that communal politics wont last long. They need to build on the confidence of the minorities. They have attempted for peace with a neighbour whom you dont control but they have failed in trying to control a state where they rule

The one thing that really bothers me is
after 50+ years of independence ( of which the majority was ruled by congress ) the politicians still talk of BSP. " Bijli sadak paani. "

CS Murty
Dr Manmohan Singh as PM
by CS Murty on Jun 04, 2004 11:34 AM

Like many other Indians I also wish Manmohan Singh a grand success as Prime Minister of India. I am sure even Atal Behari Vajpai our ex-PM who had tried to build bridges with Pakistan will help Dr Singh to build a GREAT India even though he had to run the Government with other inefficient ministers because of coalation politics.

I wish him all the success.

India is in for better days.

I wonder, why people like Dr.Manmohan Singh, A.B. Vajpayee, Mr. P. Chidambaran, Mr. Arun Jethey, etc. can not come together to form a Govt., irrespective of the whatever party they represent. I feel it will be a good idea to allot Ministries to such persons without considering the party they represent. instead of alloting it to the people like Laloo, Paswan, etc.

I always wonder, why no one is endorsing the idea that such good people who are elected should be the part of the Ministry and rotten ones are left aside.
Because, good and bad people are in every party. People elect them for different reasons. Like some are elected for their honest service, some are elected on the basis of their terror in the particular region, etc. Every individual almost knows who fall in which category so certainly every elected member is aware of that.

These elected members should come together to form such a government eliminating the chances of corrupt people being in the chair which thy don't deserve. This might put a check on the corrupt politicians.

honest simple pm at last for india
by ram on Jun 04, 2004 05:58 AM

Perks and privileges of MPs must be cut by 90% at least as they are leading a super luxurious life at the cost of tens of thousands of suicide committing poor farmers and other least fortunate Indians. Majority of these MPs are hard core white / blue collar criminals whose right place is behind the bars spending on an average at least one life sentence.

manmohan singh
by arvind203 on Jun 04, 2004 04:06 AM

he is a gentel man ,
but i can t undersatansd why people always refer to laloo prasad as an icon of corruption,
we should think about the route cause of people like laloo becoming how they are ,
it is a social problem not an individual problem ,
why peoples like laloo are surviving, why laloo is like this ?
every other person in this country is corrupt,
may i know how many are those who have not given any bribe at say RTO or any public office ?
the thing is that their are so many corrupt and criminla politicians but since laloo has been caught ,we refer to laloo, he is projected in media because of his social bacground and his way of talking etc.
the need of the hour is to promote persons like manmohan singh. to increase the level od decency we need in the society, the bad things will go off their own.
thanks
arvind

Dr.Singh...
by Bala on Jun 04, 2004 02:53 AM

I have never had the chance to meet or interact with Dr. Singh, but I admire him and his policies with great respect... To me, one of those few who love econimics, he is a role model indeed..

While I am happy that Dr. Singh has ascended to become the honorable PM of India, I also feel if he will be given a free hand in administration.... Any such implications, will only make him a scapegoat... for this funny drama..

As Dr. Singh quoted in his maiden Budget, time has come for India to shine as a bright star in the world stage.... But it remains to be seen, whether the "elite" will not obstruct to genuine people-concerned initiatives and implementation of Dr. Singh's govt.

Also, we have a bunch of well-educated youngsters, who can bring more energy to the Parliament. Whether this team stands up to the exuberance of Dr. Singh in his concerned efforts remains to be seen...

I wish him all the best, and looking forward to a Proud India.... modelled on the virtues of Dr. Kalam and Dr. Singh... who head the executive of our great land.....
