What does he think of himself??
by ssb on Apr 01, 2004 02:15 AM

This guy talks bad abt everyone, Indian fashions, NYC fashions etc. I think he thinks that except himself, everything is imperfect! Such people dont have long career, he is not down to earth. & to rediff, pl. stop making such statments as headings, statements which creates bad image of India. I think rediff has a lot to learn from West.

modesty overcomes the modernity

The modesty within INDIANS doesn't mean that they are lack of modernity.Does the western culture only represents the modernity? If it so, really Indians don't expect or adopt such modernities...

Sure... The more visible it appears, when one could say these:

1. all that is from west means modern, including drugs, near naked dresses, sexually explicit materials, language and societal things, toxic drinks like coke or pepsi, obsesity inducing fast foods, ...

2. presentation of anything for that matter, from food, dress, hygiene, poverty status, corruption, scams, politics, civil rights, religious issues, skin color, archaic culture, education & knowledge of science and technology, phoren goods & services, etc.. you name it.

3.
.. you can go on!..

Indians attitude to change should be, appreciated, WE never ever change for good reason.
We criticize western culture, and adopt only the bad bad things from them, leaving behind the goodness which should have been taken.

With this growing epidemics INDIANS are going NO WHERE.
When these things rolls up, I would rather say PITY BEING one of THEM.

Maybe if some guy whose name cannot be pronounced, 'designs' 'Indian' clothes with lesser cloth and more flesh, then maybe Indian would be said to be more 'sophisticated'.
No thanks, an affordable piece of AMPLE cloth would suffice...

Of all the statements made by that guy Richard Singh, you had to pick up the only negative one for the headline?

What does this say about you?

I agree with you William. Is it so necessary for you journalists to dramatize everything?
