When a number of people from several countries including India needs help we the Indians shoud not stick on to our homes.
Just go out in the streets, ask for money, collect them...make a draft & send it to the PM's relief fund

Tsunami Relief
by Raja on Dec 30, 2004 08:45 PM

It is difficult to comprehend that the so called bollywood and popular cricketers who are like demi gods among the people of india have not yet take a major step in terms of making any contribution to the relief work. Where as cricketers from Australia have already done their bit by donating to the cause. It is a shame to the people of india who have these kind of idols who are nopt bother unless they have publicity.

Do we expect contribution for Indian national???
by Nimesh on Dec 30, 2004 09:26 AM

I've been trying hard to find resource where I can either pay my contribution towards tsunami relief for people affected in southern India. Unfortunately, I've not found anyone who is authentic and is accepting either in Mumbai or via e-remit.
Thanks to the link from relief for PM relief fund but I think Mr.PM is expecting relief fund only from US/GBP/EURO as there is no link to do e-remit from INR.

I certainly don't want to pay by DD and then send it to Delhi as this money is required on urgent basis to help as well as I want to protect my contribution.

Organizations like Rediff or Indiatimes must tie up with some NGOs like Red Cross or any Indian NGO or GO for that matter and accept fund in an easy way.

It was really disappointing to visit pmindia site when I discovered that e-remit is only for foreign currencies...

Hope someone brings up some convinient, quick and safe way to accepting remittence which can be used to save life of hundreds of people dying every hour.

Nimesh
