Mother was a saint who lived a miracle. Her whole life itself is a miracle. She was born somewhere else, then came to India, served the dying. People whom others refused to even touch found love of a Mother in Mother. Surrounded with so much of infectious environment Mother remained as energitic as ever physically to serve the cause of her soul is itself a miracle. It's shame that the world is now trying to evaluate a great soul like Mother Teresa.
The sainthood of Mother Theresa arises out of the poor of the City of Kolkatta. A miracle is one which defies rational explanation, but this situation arises out of people's ignorance. According to Adishankaracharya, there is no miracle at all. It is human inability to see the rational cause. If service to the downtrodden is the primary reason for all this hype, there are many other silent social workers like Baba Amte, Mata Amritanandamayi, Shree Satya Sai Baba.....of course, our media are specialists in creating euphoria if the person involved is "phoren" origin!
Mother theresa Has touched millions of hearts the world over.she showed the world what can be got by loving others, not by force ,hate . she is already a saint in our hearts.
she will continue to inspire millions, by her love, wamth, &compassion.
No wonder the mother of india is soon revered as a saint. It makes all Indians proud, particularly when there is such a divide in our couuntry over religious lines.
I shall be much obliged if you could provide some details about other Chrstian siants from our country. I vaguely remember about Mariam Theresa, and Father Kuruvilla (name not very sure)
I don't wish to take any credit away from the lady. If she did actually do all the deeds she is given credit for, she deserves our respect. However being called a saint because of a miracle is a big joke and something that is not expected from a supposedly 'modern' religion.
I cannot fathom why the beatification is hyped by the media and projected as something for an Indian to be proud of. Any 'roadside baba' can produce evidence of many miracles he was responsible for. I can respect her for being a Bharat Ratna and a Nobel prize winner but certainly not for her 'miracles'. The media should educate the public and take them away from this miracles and hocus pocus mentality. Our president keeps talking about the importance of scientific temper and what does the media do, promotes such miracle rubbish.
