the arrest of senior journalists is an assualt on freedom of press and democracy in general.the order is really autocratic and should be fully condemned.the supreme court should take appropriate action against the state government.
Leaving aside the appropriateness of the sentence imposed by the TN Assembly, a newspaper of the stature of 'The Hindu' ( not the editor-in-chief) should not have bahved coyly in facing the imminent arrest of their staff. Such action of evading arrest is resorted to only in criminal cases. The action of the 'The Hindu' post-sentence imposed, has subdued the attention it would have won in national scale. This can be observed by the muted reaction in Delhi.
I am from chennai working in Gulf - For my age i have seen various happenings in the Indian politics but what has happened in last 2-3 days in Tamilnadu is at the height of absurdity What do they think of themselves - they r above all - do not news-papers have the right even to question all the useless things these people r doing Heavens - may please that Tansi case and other case judgements be given truthfully and save tamilnadu from further disasters
What can one expect from a film star who has been elected to CM's post by a population concerned more about filmsy emotions and her connections to another Late film actor? The people of tamil nadu need to wake up and act rationally next time during the eletions. OR.. Bihar == TN. That will be Jayalalita's next real life film.
