The internal threat
by rajan on May 27, 2003 07:48 AM

Good article. Unlike Pakistan, India has to battle on two fronts. There is the Pakistanis, and then there are the RNIs, or Left Wing Extremists for short. True peace will be a long time coming

The left can salivate all they want at the prospects of their version of peace between India and Pakistan. Their version of peace is naturally to sell out the country. You know give the Pakistanis whatever they want. Why stop at Kashmir, give them other states, just in case the freedom loving Pakistanis get the urge to liberate other parts of India, and of course the rabid bunch of Indian Left Wing extermists will be ever ready to oblige with this as well.

But there is a silver lining to every lefty cloud. The left will not want to give every Indian state to Pakistan. No, they will want to save some for China.

Then off course there are the Pakistanis. And for them the "Liberation of Kashmir" is the only thing in the whole universe. Whenever they meet the leaders of any country, from UK to USA, from Angola to Antartica they raise the "Kashmir issue".

What a wonderful catalogue of Jihadi activity is given by Varsha Bhosle.I wonder why does Indian media use such eulogising words for Pak agents as-militants,terrorists freedom fighters, etc. They are simply Pak agents and should be called as such,

Pl. excuse me for dignifying u'r comment with this response:
hey wasim, what r u talking abt.?
Varsha's referred to some "TERRORIST" leaders as "suar".... Do u understand that those people are killers? they have blood on their hands. Why r u offended that she calls them names?
Is that(name-calling) any equivalent to the heinous murders these terrorists are committing in the name of religion? If u dare, write to those terrorists to stop killing innocent people in the name of their "peaceful" religion!
Get a grip on reality!!!

LOC??
by Sampath on May 27, 2003 05:57 AM

LOC as the internation border is the stupidest idea any "Indian" could think of. It is our land and there is no question of giving it away (irrespective of what some people preach about an humanity across nations)

Varsha,

I agree with you when you talk about the Indo-Pak conflict and I
am fully with you when you list the litany of lies that Pakistan
government officials routinely speak. But when you connect that
with the Israeli-Palestinian problem I am afraid you are on flaky
ground. I support the Indian government forging stronger ties
with the US and Israel on the basis of national interest. But that
does not mean the establishment of Israel and the current
opression of the Palestinians is right.

VB praises Israel for having the courage to defend itself against its Islamic neighbours but has she forgotten the fact that Israel has always had the support of US in almost all its endeavours? Another important fact - none of Israel's neighbours are (known to be) nuclear powers.

Indo-Pak scenario is certainly much more complicated with both possessing nuclear capabilities. Moreover, for reasons best known to US, Pakistan still continues to be in its good books. Looking at the current situation, India has NO ALTERNATIVE other than extending a "Hand of Friendship". What emerges from it is an entirely different issue altogether.

Elections.... Elections....
by Girinath Managari on May 27, 2003 04:06 AM

Dear Varsha,

I hope(not) there is going to be a second Kargil war in the wake of elections due next year, it has become a political funda for BJP and its alliances to wage war with pakistan before elections and win the elections on that war. if i am not wrong this is the same thing going to happen for the coming elections. comments in the news papers quoting the infiltration show us the traces of the coming Election Kargil war.

if your are supporting parties like that then you should wake up.....

Girinath Managari.

Economic Boycott
by Achu on May 27, 2003 03:32 AM

When Hindus allegedly boycott Muslim shops & businesses in Gujrat, it's part of 'genocide' - when Muslims do it to express kinship with Palestinians & boycott products, even those made by companies that employs Indians, that becomes 'leveraging economic power' toward a just cause - talk about stupidity combined with dounble standards..
