Excellent article indeed..
by Aamod on May 13, 2003 01:57 PM

This article is a refreshing change from other ill-researched articles and news items seen everywhere. There are very few exceptions like Mr. Raman here and I wish other journalists and authors at least verified facts and listened to all points of views before writing news and articles. Congratulations to Mr. Raman on a very well written article!

Jamali-Famali, or General-Feneral; nothing works.
by p chandra on May 13, 2003 11:10 AM

All leaders in Pakistan, political, social or religious, however small or however big, have to surf and survive on two waves: (1) the people's hatred towards India (2) the evil designs of the ISI to keep the ambulance sirens wailing perpetually. Anything else, however sensible, is na-paak ! And these two waves often drive the rulers to wars and dishonorable defeats at the hands of the Indian armed forces. Lately, a new threat of nuclear blackmail
is also being added besides the training and export of terrorism being funded by Saudi Arabia, whose rulers are under a foolish impression that this terrorism could seldom be directed against the Saudi rulers. With the explosions in Riyadh, they, too, should now realize the dangers of funding any schmes of breeding such frankensteins. No Jamali or a General can subsist in Pakistan with his own realistic convictions about the futility of wars the thirst for which is never going to be quenched by a country like Pakistan, born out of hate and venom for Hindus, the kaffirs. It seems one more thappad from the kaffirs is overdue ! It will cost India dear, no doubt, but if He orders, India has to pull the trigger, come what may.

Wow! What an article!
by Prem on May 13, 2003 08:40 AM

This is a masterpiece compared to the lack of depth shown by many other rediff columnists like Varsha, Dilip, Lavakare and Bidwai. We never learnt all this from the media. It is sad that in the air of "friendship" and "peace" with our neighbor, our media is accused of blanketing the dirty internal politics of that country giving an impression as if politics is dirty only in India.

Kudos to rediff. We want more articles like this.

Excellent articles

It seems Mr Raman has a habit of giving in depth excellent articles about our neighbours which I am sure most of the people of current generations are unaware of. Please keep it on and provide articles such like these in future.
