I was just viewing the messages posted by the readers and found that many of them are hungry for photos. The real beauty of Nikita lies in her inside, in her brains, in her intelligence, that is not something you can see in a photo. You need to feel it...It's inside stuff !!! That is why now-a-days they say that these contests are more about intelligence and personality than physical beauty. By reading in the article about how Nikita feels for the Elders and how she wants to care for them, I can fathom her inner beauty, I do not need a photo for that !!! Kudos to rediff for not giving any photo !!!
Can anyone tell me why the contestants in Miss India or for that matter any beauty contest go about half-naked in bikini and stuff like that....it seems to be all about showing off the body...and why can't they do without those stupid question rounds? the questions have all become common and repetitive..anyone can give good inspiring answers to such questions, popular answers being, like 'I wanna be Mother Teresa', 'I wanna care for poor children', and all such kinds of wannabes !!! Well these are all easy to say but are much more difficult to accomplish in comparison to going about half-naked, luring the one and all in the world to your body, as the contestants do !!!
a lousy article. i think johnny lever would have done a better job writing abuot this topic. please make the articles more interesting! and add pictures out and leave the conversation out.
'Miss India' in no way implies just a beauty contest. It implies a woman that is to represent India, and to do that it takes much more than beauty. I'm glad that the 'real beauties were left behind'. Because it takes more than just good looks to deserve the crown. Nikita is a winning 19 year old gal who had more than what Indians traditionally expect from a Miss India. Maybe she was not the most beautiful of the lot, but she is more apt to be an ambassador for India.
It is time that the FEMINA and Rediff.com stop this facade of so called Miss India contests. These women are groomed for display in the world market to get fame and bucks for the magazine and the portal in the foreign market.
If Miss India title has any meaning, the girls should represent Indian culture, Indian character, and Indian womanhood. It should be open to all women with these Indian characteristics, not just those who satisfy the physical characteristics for body and flesh display around the world markets.
STOP this corruption of Indian girls and their moral degeneration for mercenary ends of FEMINA and the Rediff.com portal.
