As a Delhi-ite, I find it impossible to travel on Delhi roads smoothly because of the VVIP movements. The latest incidents of breach of PM security cordon is reported with such fanfare that the situation for common man would only get bad.

Breaching PM security
by rashid on Jan 30, 2003 04:31 PM

I strongly feel that the 100% responsibility lies with police & the PM,s squad they must make sure that even the wind can not pass through when the PM is going/coming because if the PM of the country can not be looked after well what about the common people like us can expect the assistance from the police.

I feel more than questioning the person who breached the security it must the police officials must the strictly questioned ,as they are more RESPONSIBLE for this lapse than the breacher to my opinion

thanks

PM should stay at home.
by Nitin Basrur on Jan 30, 2003 04:28 PM

With advances in technology providing facilities like video-conferencing, it should not be difficult for the PM and other VVIPs to work from their place of residence. Even travelling from airport to the PM's residence can be achieved by helicopter.

Making a big show of power by travelling in an armed cavalcade through a sanitised area reveals the feudal mindset of the people who rule this so-called democracy.

PM's security breach
by Ajay Pereira on Jan 30, 2003 04:24 PM

Dear sir,

It is not a surprise that PM's security is being breached so often. With the kind of fast cars and bikes available, the owners consider themselves nothing less than a power house. The owners of these vehicles have no concern for anyone else on the road.

Just yesterday I encountered one such rude car owner, and what made it even more striking was that it was a 'she.' My Esteem car not being as powerful as her's, she kept honking, and then getting slight oppertunity, she overtook me from the left, showing me a 'shov-up' finger sign.

What she was trying to prove, I have no idea. But I didn't take it seriously, considering that if PM of our country can encounter such unrully persons; then who am I.

the basic responsibility lies with the Trafic Police. They have not been successful in educating the vehicle owners, who are mostly uneducated (degrees don't give you brains). There are numerous cars still having dark tinted glasses. In the night almost everyone drives on a high beam, blinding the on-comming vehicle. If our cops can be smart enough to make the drivers wear the seat belts (at least in the day), then they sure can also strictly impliment other road rules.

I am sorry I couldn't be creative enough in writing, as I was mostly venting out my frustration.

A little, but lets hope we guys can make this country a better country, and this place a better place to live.

Cheers to all

Ajay Pereira

whats wrong with our security personals. Cant they even provide adequate security cover to our PM let alone leave the idea about capturing terrorists.God forbid but they could have been jihadi, what a moral booster that would be for them.

GOD BLESS INDIA!

JAI HIND

PS: PM should take strict action on person incharge.

PRIME MINISTER'S SECURITY
by k.v.sastry on Jan 30, 2003 04:13 PM

THERE SHOULD BE STRICT ORDERS TO FIRE INSTANTLY AT THE INTRUDER WITHOUT LOOKING BACK. THIS IS NECESSARY IN THE PRESENT CIRCUMASTANCES WHEN TERRORISTS ARE VERY ACTIVE.THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY DESCRITION TO THE SECURITY CHIEF IN THIS MATTER. RECENTLY ONE PLANE HAS FLOWN AT A VERY LOW LEVEL OVER PM'S HOUSE, WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHOT AT BY SECURITY RATHER THAN WAITING TO SEE WHICH PLANE IS THIS ETC. IF SHOOTING IS NOT DONE , THE SECURITY CHIEF SHOULD BE TAKEN IN TO CUSTODY AND QUESTION HIM.

Breach of Security
by Adithya on Jan 30, 2003 03:34 PM

This is yet another slap in the face of the PM Security. We don't seem to have learnt from ur mistakes.Today it may be an ordinary employee of a company tomorrow it will be a suicide bomber.in fact this must be encouraging news for the Militants as they now know how soft a target is our PM. We have to ensure that such breaches do not occur any more or else even the BMW would'nt do much.
